Just noticed that Goat appears to be a "tea person " in the morning. Its probably helps him stay mellow and calm anytime Rat does anything that would normally elevate one’s blood pressure which is probably more often than not. I am always amazed Goat tolerates Rat as they are diametrically opposite in most ways like NPR vs Fox News or Bernie Sanders and AOC vs Marjorie Greene and Mitch McConnell.

I have always thought that phrase has significant meaning. I have understood it to mean that the situation is as it is, not as we want it to be. The implication is that we need to deal with the reality at hand, not the situation we wish we had.

He’s wrong, though. “It is what it is” succinctly expresses a few important concepts – what you see is what you get, res ipso oloquitor (in the broader sense, rather than the legal sense), “don’t cry over spilt milk”, “We have tried getting him to change his habits, but nothing changes”.
