I’m so relieved this particular bit of drama didn’t drag for the rest of the week. Maybe we actually have a chance at wrapping up this week. And now that the haters have gotten their cathartic “how does you like that” out of their system maybe they’ll be a little more lenient. Maybe there’ll be less arguing. Maybe Catwoman will give up stealing and become a cat therapist. Who knows.
Gunther, you dimbulb – you have been in and out of that door before. You keep that up, and even Bets will not want you. After this, I think you two deserve each other.
.
The role of Gunther today was played by Chauncey Gardner. The one from “Being There”.
Drats! He never left. Golly, people do get lost in the Farrell Mansion. Showdown time. Will Gunther weaken or ask Tiff to escort him to the front door without listening to Bets? Nah, Tiff will have her say on the way to the door – in Bets’s favor. Maybe Gunther will ask for a map of the mansion and put an X on the front door.
SO damn proud of Tiff. So so so so SOOOOOO damn proud!! I’ve said it in past posts, but I’ve always wished I had a Tiffany to intervene for the one that got away for me. I feel this would have been the results instead of never hearing from her again. Bets still needs to get some professional therapy but at least she’s taking the right steps! Gunther, you gotta be there for her too. A relationship is 50-50 where both sides gotta give it 100.
Yea, he was only there when they had the Romantic Dinner…and he can’t find the front door?? ;-/ This is perhaps the lamest and most unrealistic plot twist ever. You can have him, Bets!! Gunther is clearly too stupid to live!!
We saw Brad and Toni go through a long term relationship that resulted in marriage. Is this the next long term relationship that will result in marriage? The courtship might be carried over the next ten or 15 years, but there might be another wedding in this strip someday.
Okay here goes for all the Bets haters and Bets/Gunther disbelievers BOOOOOOOOOOM. Okay you can put your heads back on your necks now. Follow the story, project for fun. One more time BOOOOOOM.
Dude…you’re outside. I don’t know why you need to find the front door in order to leave. Or, did you leave something in the house? Wait a second—you didn’t take Punk with you, did you??
Oh one more thing: give Tiffany credit for being so empathetic and romantically adroit. Luannverse does improve it’s characters over the long run, sort of what real life should be like.
Gunther is the perfect example of the difference between someone who might be intelligent and someone who has wisdom. Gunther is definitely short on the wisdom quota and intelligence might be there but like his friend Bernice it is only geared towards the textbooks and exams, not real life.
Good job, Tiffany. Now give them some space and some privacy to make up and make out. If somehow they mess up, then put them both on the back burner because they’re starting to get on my nerves.
Tiffany and Bets’ expressions are so good. Tiffany is genuinely sad seeing Bets despair, then so happy and the incredulous Bets opens her fingers to see through, speechless. Gunther is back ♡♡♡! Also, the idea of Gunther lost inside the Farrel mansion walking around trying to find the exit is hilarious.
Hurrah for miracles!!! I guess my rabbits foot / four leaf clover / Horse Shoe / Crossed fingers are all still working after all this time. Thank Goodness!!! These days I’m working all those guys overtime….
Yes, I guess we weren’t paying attention to the fact that the ladies were still on their feet and talking for like 2 minutes, while WE were assuming that Gunther was, 1. Already at his house, 2. Listening to Les’s advice (total misconception on it’s own) 3. Blocked Bets 4. On his way to South America 5. At Weenie World 6. Fill in the blank_______.
Except now she will be so afraid of losing him it will be “you said you were going to the store, the store is five minutes there and five minutes to to find what you want. You’ve been gone 25 minutes. What where you doing? Did you run into someone? Was it Luann? It was Luann wasn’t it. You’re leaving me for Luann aren’t you? But I’ve been a good wife, why are you cheating on me”?
Bets has been given some time to think about how much Gunther means to her. Good for her. Will Gunter continue to forfeit or will he see how much they love one another? Young love has no bounds, keeps bouncing back and forth. Hopefully the great memories they have will give them the foresight to give their relationship another try. I hope so. Staying tuned!
Since Gunther found his way back to the gazebo, I wonder if he overheard Bets confess her undying “love” for him…hmmm. OK what’s next? I always like a TD (Tiffany Drama) (^.^)
Great narrative twist in the third panel, and a fine punch line, something I almost never say about “Luann.” Run to his arms, Bets! Run, run! Then you can both retire to your trysting place—if you can find the door. Tiff lives in a BI-I-IG house.
Lol! :-)))Someone mentioned last week that Gunther might not be gone at all. So for the last 15-20 minutes he’s been on a mansion tour looking for a way out? Where’s his phone?Logic aside, and it usually is, what now? A Mexican Standoff? This may have been a good Saturday strip, the cliffhanger. Who says what first, or everyone speaks, no one hears, or no one says anything. :-o
Bets refused to enter Tiffany’s house when this arc started. So Bets would have had to walk around the house to get to the gazebo. Bets was adamant about NOT going into the house. Gunther could have walked around the house to leave.
If only GnK’s story-telling was up to Greg’s artistic ability. OTOH it’s rare/not easy for a comic strip to go beyond the sophomoric. Plus you have to punch one of these out for each and every day.
Seriously, like WTH. Is there a garden plot in the middle of the house or what? It can’t be the backyard, cause Tiffany invited Bets in, now Gunther can’t leave cause he can’t find the front door. What kind of house layout is this stupid McMansion that you have an outside gazebo actually inside the house?
I just got hooked on this comic strip recently. Thanks to Bernice moving in with Luann and getting the fish! I just have to know what happens tomorrow, like every day! I have never been disappointed or let down by the story- just drawn into it more and more. When a comic can make me laugh out loud or root for the characters – I am in!
He truly has to be a raving idiot if he cannot find the front door, I don’t care how large the ‘mansion’ is. But I guess that’s how he is written in – as an idiot.
As someone said on The Avocado: “I assume this is the point where Betso now realizes she’s better off without the guy who can’t find his way out of a yard.”
