Just found out a friend spent eight hours on one zoom call today. He is something of a stolid stick, but geeze!!

I’m playing in an online chess tournament this weekend. In addition to the actual playing interface, they want everyone to have a webcam set up behind them and a little to the side so they can make sure that people aren’t running chess analysis programs on their computers. When the tournament is over, the web cam gets disconnected, and I have no need to use Zoom for anything else.

Will anyone under sixty understand the reference?

There are many familar with The Brady Bunch, but for those like me who experienced it first run once a week at the same age as the characters, it was special. Pig I too was a Jan fan

The constant references from old farts (I mean, respected elders) must have triggered more attention than “Brady Bunch”, “Hollywood Squares”, and later seasons of “Muppet Show” have enjoyed in a long time.

Is it me or is Stephen sending out some sort of hidden message about his mental state with all these comics this year? It’s like he’s depressed.

Nice….but I’d venture that you’d have to say forty, not thirty…I saw less and less of these kinds of shows in syndication by the early ’80s and the only thing I ever watched by that time was MTV and The Movie Channel…

As you well know, the 9th grade English teacher is over 30, so of course I remember the Brady Bunch. You know you’re old when even your former students are over 30.

Trivia challenge (not really): Why was Jan Alice’s “favorite”?

My teacher daughter places a bunny in the window of the kid allowed to speak.

It was in syndication well into the 80s and 90s. When my oldest son was about 7 he was describing something to me and then said, “Now here’s the groovy part …”. I said, “Groovy?” He said, “Yeah, that means ‘cool’.” I said, “I know what it means; I just never expected my son to say it!”
