    Ha!

Irma talked old Al into to getting ALL of the Cats! Uh Huh. “One cat is plenty for us,” Huh Al? Just goes to show “Who” wears the pants in THAT family.

And how much do you wanna bet that one or more of those cats is gonna end up in the Gulag? :)

Seriously that many cats? i think one would have been enough, most people i think if they’ve never had a pet before normally don’t buy that many as far as i know. but than i’m not much of an animal person anyways so i could be wrong. and Les is right say hi to a Cat? my grandmother when she was alive used to put her dog on the phone and it would drive us nuts cause we called to talk to her not the damn dog

looking those cats also reminds me of when i was at a friends house and i accidently sat on their cats tail. it wasn’t on purpose and the way it was curled up you’ve all seen it before even if you don’t have a cat, it didn’t look like a cat was even on there,

what makes is so funny is that normally you’d have a cat hiss at you for doing that or scratch you, or leave you alone not this cat each time i was over there the cat would always come by me wanting to be pet it was really funny i think.

Looks like Irma and Al got cats that match their personality. There’s four energetic, fun-filled kittens upon which Irma can lavish love and attention now that her widdle Gunthy is all sorta-kinda grown up. Al has a cat that appears to be as exciting and stodgy as he is.

Yes – Greg where is the last one? FYI – Kittens need to be in pairs minimum. They teach each other through play to be gentle with each other (and their humans) and to keep claws retracted. The folks who think they know best by taking one small kitten end up all scratched and playing with inanimate objects – especially roughly, makes it worse. You reap what you sow.

So – then some folks declaw – when that happens youhave an insecure defensive cat with toe amputations who has nothing left but teeth to defend itself and possibly phantom pain from toe amputations. This leads to a higher rate of return at the shelter for declawed cats and “forever homes” (such a sweet but elusive phrase) do not happen often, but euthanasia by sad shelter workers does….

In later life two cats keep each other active longer and mentally healthy too if pet parents are gone often. Two cats not one is your best bet.

    (Former veterinary shelter worker)

Hopefully they will literally just foster the kittens, get them ready for their forever home. The grumpy old dude has ‘Master of the House’ written all over him. And he’ll probably take on the kitten raising duties, which I bet will get repeated regularly. No blessing is strong enough for people who foster pets in need so they’re well-socialized when they get adopted.

Woah. That is a lot of cats for one household. We typically have had two at a time….. but for a few years we had three…. and now through loss due to age…. only one. For me, the duties (aka litter box duties primarily) of three cats tended to be bordering on what I felt was a definite maximum…. two always felt comfortable… and one…. easy.

One especially wonderful cat (a “tuxedo” cat that I am sure ’ole Al would have approved of :) ) developed diabetes when he was about 9 years old. I was able to control it with insulin and he lived to a decent age of 17.

    * * *I am very happy the focus has not been on the Unger/Madison relationship. Having a bit of a feature with Irma and Al has been very fun and enjoyable.

Three cheers for Irma and Al, taking in these homeless ‘puddays’. Their house (with the addition of a few plants) will now be a home.
