Why does everyone think a sitting president gets evrything he asks for? Obama cannot shut down Gitmo just by declaring it to be shut down. That power lies in congress, as does the “Drone Surveillance” thing. A president leads by directing the national conversation, most of what is actually done is done by congress according to the Constitution- AND WE KNOW WHAT THE CONGRESS IS DOING FOR YEARS NOW = NOTHING!!!

As I understand it, this is a Republican Congress/ Senate thing that’s being laid at the door of Obama. On this issue I’ve only read that he’s been consistently for closing it down and getting the detainees charged or released. Jack- are you being insincere or outright false?

Once again the conversation revolves around taking away from those in need, even while those who yell this message the loudest are also yelling out that they are on the side of Jesus! If you really believe in taking from the poor while the rich, the corporations, big business and Congress are getting richer, then you’d better fear the imminent day when you face Jesus! Are you counting on your wealth to help you? Will you tell Jesus to His face that you are not your brothers keeper? How do you think that’s going to work out?

I see that I’m not the only one who questions a political party that largely defines itself as “Christian Right”, yet works ceaselessly to camoflage their “Love of Money” (Root of all Evil…). The ONE purpose I’ve seen other than their admitted goal of removing Obama is to keep or enlarge the tax breaks for the wealthiest people. They are unwavering in this ideal, but to do this requires money come from somewhere else and the answer then becomes taking from the middle class and the poor- AND THEN THEY LIE BY SAYING IT IS A CHRISTIAN THING TO DO!?!

Then answer me this, libby: IF the Republicans truly represent Jesus and all that He stands for, then why don’t Republicans do as Jesus commands over and over, which is to love others as He loves us (the examples of Jesus PERSONALLY meeting with the poor/disabled/broken/homeless/etc. are right there as THE example for how we are to love others)? Jesus would no more try to legislate morality than he would advocate to make the wealthy even wealthier (at the expense of those very same poor/homeless/disabled/sick/lame/etc.). REPUBLICAN CHRISTIANITY IS NOT BIBLICAL, AND DOES NOT FOLLOW THE TEACHINGS AND EXAMPLES OF JESUS!

The best way to get people OFF of social welfare programs would be to have those who have enough/more than enough to be determined to help ALL of America, with jobs, equal taxation, etc., but one cannot do that when one thinks only of the self and the greed that the self requires. Mitt, like all true capitalists, will cover that message with whatever misdirection is needed, but at it’s core true capitalism is about self and greed.

I consistently find that conservatives who write comments give themselves away by going on the attack. Example: the 99% lib strips- some ARE liberal, many are merely relating todays facts and reality. Many conservatives see their idealogy as reality and then can only see anything different as liberal.
