The Oklahoma Governor was being interviewed on PBS last night and was finally cajoled by the reporter to explain why she doesn’t think mandating safe rooms in schools is a good idea.
The answer was that they cost too much.
In much the same way as conservatives expect poor people to get basic healthcare in emergency rooms, they turn to blue states for money after making penny-wise-pound-foolish and politically motivated decisions.
But this shouldn’t preclude the fact that people there are needy and others can and should help.
