Well, the sequester was a pretty lame idea.

The Gov’t has more money to work with this year than last year. Somehow they just have to cut only vital services so they can make a point.

You should run for Congress. The Democrats are always looking for people like you to run against.

The left will win as long as they can scare people and people believe them. Dishonesty is not a liability for them, it’s an asset.

So you support the cuts in necessary services, threatening to not produce the checks for social security/military/federal pensions – items on the “mandatory” spending list – and you support continued spending on discretionary items and frivolous items even though the “budget” (continuing resolution style) calls for more spending than last year AFTER the sequestration cuts are implemented?

Say it ain;’t so my brother

Can’t we tell them to remove the sanctions. They do work for us—ideally anyways. Would you KKK kooks stop writing so many absurdities. We’ve got a Black President. Ellected twice. It’s all said and done except for your endless whining and outright lies.

Does your Congressman support this? What about your Senators? John Boehner is the guy who said, “I got 98% of what I wanted”, when the sequester bill passed. Not Obama, not the Democrats, though Tigger would like to ignore that.

There is a significant chunk of Republicans who support any cut, no matter how harmful or stupid. Rand Paul said the Sequester would, “in some ways, be a yawn.”

The GOP refuses to talk about it because they have drawn a line in the sand on taxes. They’d rather keep the sequester than replace it with balanced cuts with additional tax revenue, even if it means more deficit reduction. I think I’ve said this before: the GOP has never really cared about deficits.

    @Uncle Joe

I have to digest this a tad.

OK, now the original idea was brought out in 1985 with the Gramm–Rudman–Hollings Balanced Budget Act. It was a republican sponsored bill to control deficit spending.

While dealing with the “crisis” in 2011, Congress passed the Budget Control Act of 2011 which had in it a “fail-safe” of sequestration IF congress could not agree on a plan to reduce the deficit.

    Who suggested sequestration be involved?

I give you this article (one that you may find ok, it’s “liberal”)

    http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2012/oct/24/barack-obama/obama-says-congress-owns-sequestration-cuts/

Now before you get all hinky, it does not matter who suggested it IMO.

We are talking about a 2% cut in excess spending. 2% !!!!!!! WTF

NOT stopping “deficit” spending and then cutting 2% off the budget from last year. A 2% cut in the INCREASE that happens when you use baseline budgeting tactics.

    It’s crazy.

Obama could reduce spending by eliminating waste and stop the extravagant vacations. Instead, he would rather not give up the waste, so he cuts things that he knows will hurt us. A great leader would try to protect us, not hurt us for the sake of his selfish wastefulness.
