I Guess once you (Luann) break free from Skype, you never want to go back…

Apparently you haven’t been reading this ‘toon even as long as I have, or you would have noticed that this discussion is a much more mature approach to these issues than Luann would have been taking before.

And what’s wrong with telling someone you like that he or she is ‘awesome’?

I think the key here (in Luann’s estimation) is that for her, whatever she does, she feels it has to be where Quill is. The summer camp gig in Pitts is awesome, and you (Lu) would be able to “fill your insides” with your experiences- but it doesn’t have Quill, there. Or she could be “lonely and bored”, waiting all day in NYC, but I guess to her, at least she’d be near Quill . I’d say, that she has come down with some sort of Qu-illness"….

Though it’s not bad at all to want to be with “the one you love”. But 10 days isn’t too long. Plus, it’s assumed he’ll be back- he’s still slated to be at Moony U in the fall…

That is true! But… the fact that this is even a “torn between two things” sort of thing, seems to indicate that she knows she’d like the teaching gig, but she feels like she’d rather be with Quill.

In effect, she wants to make the former decision, but she’s trying to “tip the scales” in favor of the choice that “tempts her wanderlust”….

Luann probably thinks she’s choosing between two kinds of maturity – the maturity that comes with choosing and having a responsible job, and the “maturity” of a trip out of town with her boyfriend. Quill is mature enough to know there’s really only one choice here… and he will help Luann reach the same conclusion.

Ugh she’s at it again. Wrapping her life around some guy who may or may not be part of her future.

She needs to look at dating opportunities at her community college, she needs to have FUN!

If you take a close look at Luann’s expression in the last frame, she looks like someone who’s having fun…

Even though she’s talking to Quill with that facial expression, it’s also the same one she uses to try to get Frank to lend her “the family ride”… her best “convincing” face…
