Ryan is lifting weights on the 1 train going to the Upper West Side, the bastion of liberals. He wants to be in shape so he can beat them up when he gets there.

Yes, the people in Boston Tea Party destroyer private property. The Dems protesting in the House want a vote on gun control so the American people can know who stands where on this issue.

It would be so against the intent of the framers for legislation supported by the majority of Americans to come to a vote in Congress.

Didn’t the framers approve of the “tyranny of the minority”? Wasn’t that enshrined into law? Why, isn’t that the subject of this discussion?

The right of equal suffrage among the States is another exceptionable part of the Confederation. Every idea of proportion and every rule of fair representation conspire to condemn a principle, which gives to Rhode Island an equal weight in the scale of power with Massachusetts, or Connecticut, or New York; and to Deleware an equal voice in the national deliberations with Pennsylvania, or Virginia, or North Carolina. Its operation contradicts the fundamental maxim of republican government, which requires that the sense of the majority should prevail. Sophistry may reply, that sovereigns are equal, and that a majority of the votes of the States will be a majority of confederated America. But this kind of logical legerdemain will never counteract the plain suggestions of justice and common-sense.

See now, doesn’t that say the majority should prevail? And haven’t Republicans gerrymandered the hell out of every state where they can capture a governor and a senate, so thereby allowing a minority of voters to rule the state as a faux majority?

    Isn’t that the intent here?

Paul Ryan, a man who could have been great, except that he isn’t very good.

@tauyen The problem may be that they don’t have anyone else That the party can agree on to elect to the position. He serves at “their” pleasure so he has to make everyone in the party happy. Not an easy task.

For a while I wondered if Florida waw going to have a primary this year, since the Judiciary of the state kept refusing to allow the redistricting, calling the way they wanted to realign the districts unconstitutional.

    A “publicity stunt”, Paul?
You mean, like washing clean pots and pans in a spotless shelter to show how charitable you are?
Earning the name “Lyin’ Ryan” honestly.
