Once again, teachers are heroes. Until they ask to be paid the same as anyone else with a degree and a skill set…

teachers are our unsung daily heroes. but, in drastic events like this, they are in the forefront of heroism. so many reasons to thank teachers exist but the lives the teachers saved in OK – wow! how CAN you thank someone for risking their lives to save others!

Thank them, make sure they are paid well, make sure their classrooms are in good repair, make they have the supplies and materials they need to do their job. That is a start. Also, make sure the community has a rewards program for the most excellent teachers.

Nice sentiment, however the rethuglodytes will replace all public schools with FOR PROFIT schools within 10 years. If you think teachers are underpaid now, wait until we profit-ize even elementary schools.

    Republicans…“will replace all public schools”

Because their school voucher programs are working so well….so well that they are over 30 points behind their peers in Louisiana. Click link

Whether in a classroom threatened by a gunman, or a tornado, teachers have proven their love for children. It would be interesting to see some of our politicians and anti-tax folks do the same.

There should be vouchers in every state! I wish I could have gone to a good middle and high school. Mine were junk!

The odds that voucher education is going to work is as good a socialized medicine! The incentive for profit will truncate any results that could make any difference, for as long as they (The for profit operators) see a way to squeeze more $$ from the contracts they get the more fractured the education will result, just wait and see for ur self

I seek to understand Americans: Can someone explain to me how conservatives can praise teachers for hard work and self sacrifice with one breath and then damn them for turning students into liberals and demanding homeschooling and vouchers with the next?

^the teachers union must be broken. They should be paid minimum wage with no benefits. that’s what makes good teachers!

My father is PhD holder at the university and mom is a high school teacher.
