In an old Bob Hope film, Bob was asked to step up to the bar. The other guy asked for a horse’s neck. When they asked Bob what he wanted, he replied, Well, no use killing 2 horses :{ )
Why such a negative interpretation? Clearly it means that, in the unlikely event that you arrived in that manner, they warmly welcome both you and the horse you rode in on.
Then there are those motor courts built in the 30s throughout the West. With those little cabins you’d drive up to. Where you wondered who had duplicate keys to your room.
