I don’t know who came up with the idea, but as kids we’d get raw oak flakes for breakfast. We’d add cocoa and milk

At my age, (80), that sounds horrible. I don’t like sugar in my milk. Maybe I did when I was a kid. My two young cousins would get a glass of milk and put two or three teaspoons of sugar in it. Ugh!

Old people shouldn’t eat healthy food. They need all the preservatives they can get.

I love a nice bowl of Steel Cut Oats with some chopped walnuts, dried cranberries, a tablespoon of Ovaltine and tablespoon of butter for one serving. I cook it in a small sauce pan.

I remember Cocoa Puffs and Trix back in the day when I could actually taste the corn in the cereal. Now, it’s just friggin’ candy. Also, I remember the commercial for Cookie Crisp cereal: “It’s like having cookies for breakfast!” No, it is having cookies for breakfast!

Instead of chocolate milk, try “Yoo-hoo”. If that’s’ not enough flavor, add chocolate syrup and chocolate jimmies! :D

Another reason the second bowl is better is it still has sludge left over from the first.

I loved Sugar Crisp as a kid. I would fill the bowl to the brim with cereal and milk then try to eat the cereal with as little milk as possible so I could refill the bowl. By the fourth helping the milk would be pure sugar.

Kellogg developed Frosted Flakes to limit the amount of sugar, after watching his 10 year old son put like five teaspoons of sugar on his Corn Flakes.

When I was a kid, I went through a phase in which I ate chocolate-filled chocolate cookies along with chocolate milk. My mother was smart enough to let me do it because I eventually got tired of that combination.

Why has no one suggested that Calvin improve the chocolate flavor by adding chocolate syrup to his mix? So far, Calvin is on the amateur level; he needs to raise his game.

I used to eat two bowls of Cocoa Puffs for breakfast as a kid. By the time I’d finished the second bowl, the milk WAS chocolate so I tipped the bowl and drank it; sort of like dessert. Thank God I never had a subsequent sugar rushhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…
