poor Goldie. she was thinking she had really found a home where she was going to be loved and now she’s feeling like she doesn’t belong with this family either.

Elvis is right! Never before have viewers tuned in and found somebody melting down! It’s never happened before and we don’t want it to happen now! Sunflower is right!

Er, Elvis, I mean. No one would ever have reason to call him Sunflower. Certainly not.

Purrhaps Goldie needs to have a chat with Puck or Elvis to find out more about why Lupin is so upset. She’s looking rather concerned in the last panel.

How are they all going to react when they discover Burt’s been taping the whole thing? Note the “live” chyron. Sue Ellen called it…blooper reel time….we need the “ technical difficulties, please stand by” right now as everyone scrambles to shed the pj’s and get back into professional attire.

This reminds me a bit of when I introduced Miss Toffelees (RIP) to Angel. Angel is a fussbudget who doesn’t react to change, or new cats, well . . . she was working herself up in to a major hissy, and Miss T said, “oh, hi!” and kept exploring. It was hilarious.

Why is Lupin melting down?

I love Goldie’s nonchalance in the face of Lupin’s meltdown.

When Elvis poofs, he looks like a sunflower … and now that Lupin’s in full poof, I’ve been trying to think of another flower … ‘chrysanthemum’ is just too dang long and hard to spell before coffee! maybe mum? or just pompom? or a dahlia? but maybe dahlia should be saved for Puck when he poofs?

What will viewers think? They’ll wonder what’s happened to the usually suave and debonair anchor cat. The cat without a bit of fur out of place. The cat who is usually talking Elvis out of a poof.

I just want to reach into panel three and smooth down all that ruffled fur.

Burt: " Uh, guys?! … The camera!! "

“The coffee table is off limits” reminds me of this exchange:

“What are the cats doing on the (dining room) table (where they’re also not allowed)?”

“Paying half the mortgage.”

LOL!

Puck it’s not that I wonder why you’re dressed like this but that I wonder why you’re all still dressed like this.

Elvis the voice of reason and reconciliation? Wonders never cease. Puck of course is still in trauma from the jail uniforms (festive though they are).

PSA: When you are out and about, buy a can of fake snow. Tuck it away until spring then spray it on those windows the birds hit. It will wash away with a hose.

He isn’t “melting down”. He’s poofing up! :-D

Lupin really wears poofiness well. So wish I could comfort him and make him feel better.

I’m sure it’s still Christmas Day in comic time. Still time for Beatrix and her woman, and maybe even Trevor, to drop by for a visit, during which Beatrix can return the tape recorder to Lupin, and jog Goldie’s memory as to why she took it. I’m sure Lupin will forgive Goldie once he understands her motivation, and Goldie’s confusion will be resolved when she learns Lupin is deaf and relies on the recorder to save his notes.

The pajamas do look like prison issue if you ignore the candy cane aspect.

WAY off-topic: Mystery Science Theater 3000

I am shocked to discover we all missed the most sacred of all cat days. Yesterday was Boxing Day which celebrates those impossibly tiny cardboard boxes cats love.

Goldie is the master of passive aggression. Lupin will be driven slowly mad if he doesn’t adjust soon.

Goldie is killing Lupin with kindness! He’s finding it infurriating!

Props to Goldie for staying calm and collected.

Interesting thought: long time viewers will probably not wonder why they are dressed like that. They will jump to one correct conclusion: the woman.

Goldie is so unbothered. I love it!

in TODAY’S episode of “Candy Cane Critters” we have one of our stars having a bad fur day!

Melting down has been tarnished of late, given a bad name. A little more melting down may be just what the world needs. I’m comforted and calm in the knowledge that everyone agrees.. right?

The comment about first they’re going to wonder why they’re all dressed like that was truly funny.

Well, Puck, their going to wonder what prison system has prisoners dressed in red and white striped uniforms. I’d loose the matching PJ’s fast. (Does the aparment have a fireplace? If not, try hiding them at the bottom of the trash can.) Your normal PJs are better.
