Retired at 54 to southern UT. BIG mistake. Oh, well, guess I'm stuck for a while. Husband and I cater to 3 cats. We also foster so it's rare that we don't have a spare cat or some kittens in the house. When we don't, it seems odd.

I just got a text from Dr Susan; the tiny baby didn’t make it.

I’m so very sorry about Misty. Her story sounds just like poor Calvins’. I bet she had friends waiting for just so they could share her treats and toys. On the ‘other side’, I think treats and toys are never ending.

I have a question for anyone who fosters, especially tiny newborns.

The one that Dr Susan put with the mama a week ago isn’t doing well. The mama only lets it nurse for maybe 2 minutes then she walks away. Her “real” babies are much older and starting to show interest in wet kitten food. Is it possible that mama thinks this baby is the same age as her own? Susan tries to bottle feed but it spits it out and cries, which makes mama run over to save it.

    Any suggestions?

My little foster kittens are doing great. They had such a rough start (Dr Susan almost lost 2 of them) but she workedmagic and they’re all thriving. They eat like pigs, which is good because they need to gain weight.

I’d like to see a picture of him as kitten. I’m currently fostering 3 siblings and the girl is a Chimera.

The kittens are settled in and Moose has been to see them 3 times already. Blackjack was there, too, but when he got baby-hissed at, he was gone like the wind.

I’d only go back to that one year. Piffle on the rest of them.

It sointinly does, Ollie. Would I go back in time if I could? Yep. I would choose either my senior year in high school (1968/1969) or the year I met Brad. (1982)

I’m getting the three kittens that were found in a truck today. Dr Susan has weaned them off of the bottle and they’re using the litter box. They’re getting too big for her playpen, which is bigger than mine. She called yesterday to ask if I would take them. They’re all just under a pound so I’ll have them for a while; they need to reach 2 lbs to get spayed or neutered. One is a Chimera tortie and the others are white with orange markings. They’ll have lots of room to run around in over here.

So Lupin was found. I wonder where he was hiding. Neither of our cats have any interest in bacon. Blackjack scarfs down shredded chees in the morning.

That won’t work on ours; they don’t get canned food.
