It is an incredibly thorny situation with not really good solutions. Regardless of what Biden does, he will be judged as wrong. Help Isreal defend itself against terrorism, and you support genocide against the Palestinian population. The reverse is also true. Both peoples have a human right to live in peace, but both sides foment the other’s destruction. How does one support human rights on both sides? Provide food and medical aid only with no weapons to anyone? Then Biden would be accused of abandoning Isreal. Give weapons to Palestinians to defend themselves? No. Then your giving aid directly to Hamas. Before you criticize, be prepared to suggest a truly better solution.
Monotheism – God created all things and all peoples, but my tribe is “chosen” by God, and therefore I’m better than you, and you have to succumb to my will. What perversion.
And in some cases, it is the Jewish students starting the fight with the demonstrators. More evidence of two peoples who refuse to find a peaceful solution that respects humanity on both sides. This is why the demonstrations are occurring. Israel’s response is no longer proportional and has become genocidal, which is ironic given the holocaust. Equally, Hamas won’t recognize Isreal, and kicked off this round of fighting. Though that is at least partially in response to being locked in an open air ghetto for decades. By the same people who were locked in ghettos by the Nazis, and this time with support from Egypt and other countries. It is an untenable situation resulting in inhuman behavior. This isn’t antisemitism. It is students protesting against U.S. support of inhumanity.
So both sides are (and have been for a long time) acting inhumanely. We as a country are supporting one side. That will lead to consequences, likely something similar to 911.
Trump was elected because the Democrats ran a deeply flawed candidate. While I don’t think Biden has done a bad job given the circumstances, I can’t stomach the idea that these two are the best candidates this country has to offer.
