It’s actually part of a more general problem in post-capitalist America. Competing for honest profits stopped being adequate a long time ago. The orange puppet isn’t actually smart enough to play the game, but the puppeteers pick the suckers for him while considering what kind of BS he’s going to spew. As it applies to the largest corporate cancers, they try to pick the most profitable customers. That’s where the big profits are and then they buy out the little companies.

You don’t want to be an “aggressive” shopper like you’re truly. You’ll be in for a whole lot of frustration. Recent example involves smartphone batteries…

Meanwhile, the “billionaire’s” business model is stiffing people.

If they let me borrow $100,000,000 and only pay back half, I’d be rich, too.

“I call myself the King of Debt. I’m the king of debt. I’m great with debt. Nobody knows debt better than me. I’ve made a fortune by using debt. And if things don’t work out, I renegotiate the debt. I mean, that’s a smart thing, not a stupid thing.”

    Q. “How do you renegotiate the debt?”

“You go back and you say, ‘Guess what, the economy just crashed. I’m gonna give you back half.’”

    Steps to solution:

    1. Get rid of Biden and his Biden-flation.

    2. Get Rid of Biden and his regualations that drive up prices on energy and all energy related items (which is everything).

    3. Ger rid of Biden who steals money from working class through taxes to redistribute to pay college of loans of people with worthless degrees who still live in their mom’s basement,.

    4. Stop sending your kid to day care and stay home with them, you will save money that way and have a better family and better kids.

    5. Get Rid of Biden so we can secure the borders and get rid of the tens of millions driving down pay as cheap labor floods the market.

    6. Re-elect Donald Trump who will gave us an amazing economy.

    7. Tell Biden to stop weaponizing the law and the DOJ to launch politically motivated lawfare against Trump.

    8. Get some common sense.

Trump leads Biden in every major pole in every major category, and on some issues by 10-15%. I saw it on CNN which is not a Trump friendly network. Say what you will and parrot the talking points you favor, but this does not bode well for the country and I don’t know what the Dems are going to do about it in the next 6 months. A lot of folks including myself prayed for the Dems to put someone else up for the presidency, maybe a young, smart, centrist John F. Kennedy type but no, apparently our Democrat power players are as dumb as the Republicans. P.S. The choice for VP will be more crucial than ever for reasons that should be obvious. Sorry but Kamala is a no vote for me. I may skip the top of the ballot all together. I want to wash my hands of this potential disaster.

A long, but insighful read about some of the most recognizable MAGA personality types …

“… If you want to know if you are a Tribalist Troll, ask yourself this — when something horrible happens in the news, does your mind impulsively hope someone from the other tribe is responsible? Nobody wants to admit that they do this. But social media has laid bare our darker angels, and we can now see in real time that a large swath of the participants in our civic dialogue have reduced themselves to the most base type of Tribalist. Veterans of the very online Washington wars have warped themselves to such a degree that every news item, every action, is not something that requires a real-world solution that mitigates the suffering, but is just the latest data point in our online forever war. …” — politico .com/news/magazine/2022/07/01/tim-miller-trump-republican-operatives-book-excerpt-00043279

For those wondering why lower-middle class might have IRS issues (except for self-employment and not setting aside for taxes as you were paid), many got caught by the tax changes in 2017 when kids went from being an exemption (something for your W-4s) to just being a tax credit (at half the amount). If on the edge of a bracket change, kids could no longer keep you on the lower bracket.

Granted, the increased standard deduction was supposed to help with that, but it still caught many in a particular window by surprise.

The reason we were, and remain, subjected to trump and his evil is simple.

He discovered that, idiots will give you money, if you ask them the right way. trump ran charity scams for veterans, orphans and you name it. His run for the white house was just a huge scam, that got away from him. It’s that simple.

I’d love to see an adult film with Stormy and Avanka in the leads. “adult film” is a misnomer, should we say a “Dirty Movie”? Title? Down and Dirty in D C ?

Who remembers when trump boasted that he wouldn’t need anyone’s money for his campaign because “The beauty of me is that I’m very rich!”?

That was the whole selling point. He would never be beholden, he would pay for it all himself.

Let’s break it down once more. He…would… NOT… need… anyone… else’s… MONEY. He was VERY RICH.

And the instant he changed that to “Puhleeeeze help me out with all the money you can send” his supporters fell for it. They always fall for it.

Anyone looking for a glimmer of a silver lining in this massive con game can take some limited amount of heart in the fact that all the money flowing down the orange sinkhole would otherwise be going to down-ballot Republican candidates for Congress and state and local offices. Much as I loathe the Supreme Court’s atrocious decision in Citizens United, I have to recognize that it’s changed the nature of the playing field so that money doesn’t just talk, it outshouts everything else the way Vesuvius outshouted Pompeii. And to whatever extent that it’s just shouting a single name, the rest are being reduced to murmurs.

But then I wake up and realize that simply bankrupting millions of ordinary citizens isn’t going to matter diddly to the millionaires and billionaires who have yet to tap deeply into their own stupendous resources in their quest to impose fascism on us all.
