    Hang on a second, Tiff.

The reason why “Tiff as Nails” failed was because “R.A.” Bernice shut you down.

As I recalled business was BOOMING before that.

I also remember the crowd turned on Bern when she did that.

Well, now that GruppenFurhrer Bernice is no longer an “R.A,” maybe it’s time to reconsider starting “Tiff as Nails” up again.

Just make sure the proper permits are obtained FIRST.

And the appropriate taxes are paid……, ;-)

Are we now rewriting history? Tiff As Nails was a success but Bernice shut it down. T’s Teas was also a decent idea!

And Bets n’ Gun was too hard on Bets? I think it was too hard on everyone else.

    .

If they think all their past “brands” were losers.. how can they think becoming “Branders” is a winning idea??

As business majors, they ought to realize that the first order of business is market research to identify a desirable product or service that can be provided within legal and societal constraints. Only then is a catchy name needed as a marketing tool. Then come such matters as obtaining permits, means of production, operating personnel, venue, and-or materials. Most of all, what is needed is planning — which is much more than a simple idea, concept or name.

Tiffany still needs to commit entirely to her studies by (unfortunately) relying on her father though. She is failing and being overworked by handling that and her waitress job at the same time.

Tiff as Nails was a a success but it lacked proper licensing. Tiff’s Table for Two had bad customer service and probably a non-viable business plan but it was a good idea. Also it, like Tiff’s Storage should have been housed inside a private residence. It needed to be in some place zoned commercial. And T’s Teas seemed like a sell-out. She just needed to set up a regular supply and outlet (like a farmer’s market). As for Table for Two, renting the Fuse after hours for that special party seems like a solution. In short Tiff has not had a string of failures, just poorly planning. As for Bets, I never saw her tired from streaming, only Gunther. She needs better reporte with Gunny, timing and expecting to more solo work. These two don’t need to rebrand themselves, just pull their heads out of their fundament.

If you want to brand yourselves, start a small fire, get a long handle, form a capital “H” using iron, put that inside an iron O, attach it to the handle and stick it in the fire until it’s red hot, then apply it to your skin with the “H” at an angle of about 45 degrees from horizontal.

I like the light Bets has in her eyes thinking about working together with Tiffany. Looks like she just had a great idea and can’t wait to tell her. If it’s a bad idea, Tiffany will tell her right away. If it’s good, she will be thrilled. Tiffany had many ideas, it’s sad that she see all of them like duds. “Table for two” gave her a good grade and the Tea was a success. I hope that Bets’ idea is successful and can continues for a long time.

Don’t remember the first, Tiff’s Storage ran in to zoning and insurance issues, Table for Two, she kept trying to force her vision on the customer’s, T’s Teas, were actually Dez’s teas, and, Tiff tried to make them ou to be something they weren’t SO the problem wasn’t that the ideas were duds, it was the execution of the ideas. Maybe teaming with Betts on this “Branding the Unbranded” will work out better. They both have ideas, but Betts is (at least somewhat) in the execution of of them.

“Branding” originally referred to the identifying mark farmers burn onto their cattle with a hot branding iron. This comic has been using the word “brand” so much lately that it has lost the modern meaning and as far as I’m concerned Tiffany and Bets are talking about burning their initials onto people. Good luck with that.

I know this is a comic, but none of this is branding. A brand is what you want people to remember. It’s what people say about you when you aren’t in the room. It’s a promise. So a brand could be things like ”quality”, “price”, “innovation”, “availability”, etc.

Why don’t they start a business called Image Makers and get rid of the branding dialogue? It’s not a very attractive word and it doesn’t really describe what they would be doing. No established business is going to let these two little girls give them any advice or change their label, so all of their clients would probably be college students. Kind of like that movie when the guy paid the popular girl to date him and she fixed his hair and clothes.
