    Les is in no danger. Greg simply drew the first panel rotated 90 degrees clockwise, so Les only appears to be climbing. The wall is actually flat on the ground and once Greg finished the panel, he rotated it back 90 degrees counter – clockwise so it is only an illusion that Les is climbing. Greg got that idea from the original Batman series.

    Again, Les is in no danger.

    First save little Punk. He may show you to an overhanging tree branch that he used to come up. If not, toss him down to Gunther, and sit down. You’ve bought yourself some time for Uncle Al or Gunther to scrounge up a real ladder from a neighbor, or call the fire dept. Whatever the decision, just remember your mother probably doesn’t carry you on her insurance.

    I helped my dad shingle as a kid, and can state crawling on all fours is better than standing when on a roof.

    OK, so he gets to the cat. Then what? He can’t throw the cat down. He can’t climb down holding the cat in one hand.

    I agree that the best thing to do would have been to just keep an eye on the cat and wait for it to come down on its own. It will eventually, probably the same way it went up.

    I tried to get up on my roof to check on a leak. Very difficult, couldn’t stand, trying not to slip. When I got the roof replaced the contractor got up there and walked around inspecting. I asked him how. He had special shoes for walking on roofs. I had no idea they existed.

    From the “story” aspects it’s hard to tell where this is going, but that is nothing new in Luannverse. Part of the fun is the speculation. I just hope that the plan is not vainglorious Les gets hurt. I also don’t hold it against Al on the concern for the house, raising the appropriate chip on shoulder comment from Les, that the house is more important than his nephew, but I think Al is very concerned about Les, but kind of thinks in this “old school” way.

    Any guy who’s willing to climb up a drain pipe and walk on the roof to RESCUE a kitten is O.K. WITH ME!! If he was a cold hearted bastard (like many seem to think), he’d have just said “…the cat figured out how to get up there, he’ll come down when he’s hungry…”. You’re a good guy Les – even if you don’t want people to think so!

    I remember the times my Bengali climbed up on the roof to sleep under the stars on a clear night. Mostly she sleeps on my bike. The cover works as a hammock over the seat when secured with rope.
