It’s all ending in tears! Poor Sweet Puck! His brave attempts to cover the Breaking Cat News has resulted in his being attacked himself.

Have the ceiling cats been told of Goldie?

Elvis is NOT HAVING IT!

There is a maneuver known as the “Kitten Flattening Paw” on the cat rescues I follow. It is used when a Young Whippersnapper sufficiently annoys an Elder Cat and needs to be Reminded Who’s Boss.

Elvis, being the Elder Cat of the Apartment, looks ready to break out the Kitten Flattening Paw on a couple of roomies…

Methinks that Lupin and/or Goldie hath made a BIIIIIG mistake…

Nobody hurts Puck and gets away with it! There are going to be two very sorry cats!

Look, Lupin, now you’ve made Puck sad. Go apologize to your new sister and promise Puck no more bapbapbapping.

Well, Lupin and Goldie look ashamed and Elvis looks seriously annoyed. He may be the one to put and end to the whole thing.

OK. That’s it. Now this has gone too far. Poor Pucky! I just want to hug him…so glad that Elvis is there to support and defend him, or else today’s comic would be too hard to look at again.

Now they did it. Maybe hurt the sweetest cat in all catdom.

Could it be possible that we will see a reasonable ending to this? Or just a fudge?

Elvis has that “That’s all I can stands, I can’t stands no more!” look on his face.

Poor Puck! He is such a sweet little fellow stuck in the middle of it all.

Since Elvis appears to be Siamese by heritage, I think that he may be about to teach a masterclass in Meow Thai.

It looks like Elvis will end this right quick. And not in a way Goldie or Lupin will like.

This is really sweet, in a way. The instant poor Pucky gets caught in the crossfire, Lupin and Goldie come to their senses and look guilty while Elvis goes into Protective Big Brother Mode!

See? Now fisticuffs have occurred, they can get down to talk. And they’ll do it for Puck’s sake.

Lupin and Goldie look like they know they’ve gone to far, they are about to get a serious dressing down from big brother Elvis, hopefully we will finally see them call a truce!

Alright you two! Now you’ve done it! Do you remember what happened the last time Elvis gave someone that look?

No? Me neither! You’ve created something new! (And you’re not gonna like it!)

But, IF Elvis leaves them in one piece (one each, that is) I think we (they) will finally TALK about what’s going on and why they did what they did and feel what they feel. If they don’t, Elvis will probably lower the boom with a great big OR ELSE!

I hope poor little Puck is not hurt, but in panel 2 it does look like Lupin might have got him in the rear with a rabbit kick aimed at Goldie. Dear sweet Puck does not deserve this.

Elvis has got a righteous wrath working up.

I love Elvis in protective big brother mode, like in the Shelter Cats special report. “You’ve got 5 seconds to walk out of here before you’re wearing a Siamese cat all over your face.” one of his best lines ever!!.

This is one of those times we need to see two strips in one day! I cannot wait until tomorrow to see what Elvis does!Go Elvis, Go Elvis, Go Elvis!

I don’t think he was physically hurt. The fisticuffs are above his head. He’s emotionally upset by the fighting, covering his ears and making a repeated sound to drown them out while he runs away. I do the same when the animal shelter commercials come on tv and I can’t find the remote fast enough.

Frankly, I hope Lupin and Goldie can make up over their shame at treating Puck this way, rather than as a result of retribution from Elvis.

Oh guys, you are so in for it… not only the guilt of upsetting sweet Pucky, but now you must face The Wrath of Elvis!

Puck’s tour of duty on the UN peacekeeping force has come to an end.

Sounds like my house this morning, Cole chased Kang under the bed with yowling and hissing and was all poofed up. Had to get out the no-no bottle. And some loving to both later.

Thankfully, Elvis is there to keep him safe.

"Lupin will receive reduced rations for a brief time … and newcomer Goldie may get a quick ‘timeout’… "

Puck is up with the current youth slang. “Nope” is now a verb for backing away from a dangerous place as in, “The moment I saw the ghost, I noped right out of there.”

Elvis is about to put his paw down!!

Happy Hat Day!

Seriously, hats are a good idea no matter where you live, especially a hat with a full brim, not a baseball style. Hats with a brim shade your ears, back and sides of your head, not just your eyes and forehead. This is an excellent protection from sunburn and skin cancer in those areas. In winter, they do more to keep you warm than any other garment.

I believe Elvis is about the “lay down the law.”

Poor little Pucky! I see 2 very sorry kitties who are sharing the guilt of hurting sweet little Puck.

Maybe this is the breakthrough the clowder needed. I don’t care how wronged Lupin was, it’s worse that he keeps hating on Goldie without voicing a reason. On Goldie’s part you would think she’d talk to Elvis and Puck and find out why Lupin is acting like he is. Hopefully they’ve both realized they have hurt or scared Puck.

This is one time I don’t think Burt will mind that a mic has been dropped.

OT – I’m curious, do any of the wordsmiths here know what an “autodidact polymath” is?? I just found it on a document at work and had to look it up. Hope everyone has found some joy in their day today!

Poor Puck very often war reporters get hurt in the fighting.

I once picked up my cat Wilamena while she was in the middle of a “discussion” with another cat. She swatted me on the cheek but kept her claws in. It was like being hit by a cotton ball shot out of a gun. I considered the limits of a cat’s restraint, as well as the costs of facial reconstruction surgery, before carefully placing her back where she had been.

Oh boy. Look what you’ve done now.

We need a visit from Chubby Hugs over at Get Fuzzy.

I’m finding it hard to associate guilt and shame with cats.

GASP :( Poor Pucky. Elvis does not look at all amused. They better watch it or Mommy’s Special Boy will give them a taste of his angry fussy paws in the form of a lecture that will shame them into the ground. (tsk, sigh)

I spent months after Marc died trying to get his cat Lily to live at peace with Database and Reboot. Poor Reboot, the oldest and only male, was caught between both of the girls and they hated each other. Reboot even stopped eating because of the stress and I finally had to move Lily outside. Now she’s happy because as far as she’s concerned, Database doesn’t even exist and when Reboot escapes the house, he doesn’t bother her. Database refuses to even go near an outside door and couldn’t care less what happens to an outdoor interloper. We do bring Lily in the house when the weather is really bad, but she stays in the living room or Jora’s room and Database retreats to my room.
