Off – topic: Here I am again asking for help. My mom passed away suddenly early Saturday morning. Headed to the funeral home today to take care of her arrangements.
OMC! When I was a kid I hated getting up in the morning (some things never change) and my dad would put OLD TIME ROCK & ROLL on and crank our livingroom sound system WAAAAAAAAY UP (we lived in the country, no close neighbors). The windows would actually rattle.
My plastic models have ocasioally “slipped of a shelf”helped by some furry poltergiest, i’m sure. but I always knew , if I built it I can fix it. So I shrug and put it back, or give it another spot of glue.
Ouch! This on hits close to home today. I just lost a treasured bowl I had bought from a beloved, well-known potter on a special visit a few years ago. He passed just a few months ago. Dusty, who has forgotten he is not as lithe as he once was, tried to jump up on the chest it was on, the tattling dog barked, scaring him, so he awkwardly jumped off, catching my bowl with his heel. I held my breath as I watched in slow motion as it started its descent. I relaxed thankful the moment it hit the floor intact, but then it bounced back and hit the corner of the chest just so, and it was done… wahhhhh! After the wailing and cussing was over, poor Dusty got extra cuddles for all the scary hoopla he had no idea he had caused.

I had a six-foot bookshelf. My cat pushed a couple of books off the top, so I cleared a space for him to nap. By the end of the week, between the two of us, we are cleared off the entire top of the bookshelf…and my cat had found somewhere else to nap.
