   I love this. My family is from Chicago and in the ’80s I visited a cousin in her apartment a few blocks from Wrigley. A lot of students, artists and young families lived in those buildings then. Street vendors everywhere selling great food. In those days, definitely a culture.

    Yay! Yes, The Mega-Orb is a vital subculture. It has both cultural uniqueness and features that are shared with Orbsters’ main cultures (like when we swap recipes) and some other subcultures (like filk lyrics). Vocabulary is a big part of it, and can become what others know us by. If Georgia puts AMA ZINNNG in fancy lettering on t-shirts, coffee cups etc (hint hint) it’s like the cloisonne pins, another way of not only publicizing BCN and getting more $ for Georgia, but also attracting more viewers to Orb magic.
