Ok – the girlfriend bit was not quite a surprise – but I’d dismissed it for a number of reasons (Tiffany met Ann at WW, doing the whole lingerie scam didn’t line up with the trips away with Tiff’s dad, and if dating Tiff’s dad … why the need to scam?). Looks like I was wrong on those counts! Ah well.

I’m as surprised as they are, Somewhat. What will Tiffany do? She’ll probably go Gunther with paranoia.

Wow, so Ann is Tiff’s dad’s girlfriend. I know lots of commenters predicted that, but I never thought it was true. I’m a bit disapointed, but at least things are falling into place and this strip is going somewhere.

For the next stage, I’m waiting for Luann to be informed by these three, and escalate the matter to her parents. And from there to Al Gray, Pru, and Les. And to Tiff’s dad. And the authorities.

Now no one can say that Greg never brings an arc to a cusp or conclusion, and just leaves everything hanging. Since Brad and Toni’s wedding, this is probably the next major cataclysm.

I hope we get an arc with Ann & Tiff’s Dad in his yacht – and she’s pouring it on…

Hey I called it, along with a few other people, including those who pointed out that Bernice and Ann had a working—not fun—relationship. It was obvious, I can now say, since it happened. So nice to be right about Greg’s thinking. What happens now? Well as I have also been trying to say is that the two major arcs involving Gunther and Tiffany, and Ann, Les, the Fuse, and all the characters connected, from Nancy and Frank to Pru, and the cast of Fuse characters (TJ and Ann, ah such possibilities), to Tiffany, who has a real personal beef, and Bernice who also has one, and Dez, who will do who knows what, and we can’t forget Tara, no shrinking violet ARE CONVERGING. Of course there is Luann, and Les and Mr. Gray, and Mrs. Berger lest we forget. I hope this is not a retirement arc, but probably not. It should by a nice FUSE of things in Luannverse, hot, powerful, and sustained.

At the rate everyone is getting connected together, a few generations down, the family tree will have a tap root.

Meh. Looks like the arcs are predictable – some of us in here predicted Ann to be Mr. Farrell’s girlfriend and Tiffany’s dreadful potential step mother. And some of you said Ann is like teflon… Given her history, I think it is worth the time to get police involved. Who knows what they will find what nobody knows about Ann. Tiffany will probably run straight to his daddy and tell him all about his dreadful and criminal girlfriend who probably wants to take him to the cleaners. Then he will check his bank account to see if any money is missing, if any jewelry disappears, etc. That would provide the police with a more solid ground to investigate. Ann – you made a big mistake in returning to Pittsville and scoring a sugar daddy whose daughter is friends with the Luann crew.

Because of course she just happens to be the girlfriend of Tiffany’s dad. Now let’s sit back and watch an overly-elaborate (and ultimately ineffective) revenge scheme, instead of the smarter, simpler, and way more damaging solution of “report Ann simultaneously to the authorities for fraud and the lingerie company for hijacking their name to sell knockoffs.” No, instead of getting her sued and possibly imprisoned, they’ll just do something to cause her to skip town again until the next time Evans needs a con artist to screw over our heroes. How many times will she do unethical and illegal acts until someone takes real action?

Though maybe we’ll get lucky and it’ll be like the show Riverdale: sure the adults let repeat child predator Miss Grundy simply leave town instead of actually being held accountable for her actions, but the following season we got to watch karma catch up with her as she gets brutally strangled with piano wire. Maybe Ann will finally get what she deserves as well (but I doubt it). I’m not particularly bloodthirsty, I just want there to be actual consequences to her actions rather just see her repeatedly pull an Exit Stage Right when she gets foiled. Being thwarted is not the same thing as being punished; if you try to rob a bank and fail to get anything, the cops don’t shrug their shoulders and consider it a Lesson Learned for you.

Ann Eiffel carries a grudge. When the scandal hits the fan, Ann will focus the bad publicity on T.J.‘s Kafe Kabloomie and Brad’s family to destroy their family business. Not for money, just for spite was Ann Eiffel’s plot from the start when she tricked her brother into investing in the club and hiring her runt as a mercy case.

Because, Greg can’t be bothered to develop TOO many characters!

My prediction is this may set a record for number of comments in a day. Don’t know what record is but should be well over 300 this time.

And…and…and…it just could be that Ann E. actually is selling a ‘genuine’ line of Souffle lingerie……but…it’s simply a secondary line of undies which wholesales at a lower price. Most quality companies usually have a secondary line that markets at a more affordable rate. And…..maybe Leslie is still feeling left out by both his Mom and Dad who are so wealthy they neglect him thoroughly. He is a ‘needy’ child. His continual snarl speaks loudly of discontent and lack of close familial relationships.

Everyone’s first reaction was to dislike and distrust Leslie and he reacted in kind. You can see he has never had any love in his life….they could have given him enough $$$$ to share in their businesses and help him become an entrepreneur himself.

I think everyone has written Leslie off already…..but…..what a loss! He’s always been there to help, whether he wants to be paid, okay….he’s working. They could all may a strong team….including Leslie….Tiffany has to grow up and realize it’s not all about her. She’s making Leslie look like a crook simply because she feels she is the only one important. Of course, she is also calling Ann a shyster, too. Her motto seems to be…’ ONLY Tiffany matters!

Yes, the plot does sicken. Some things we need to watch out for -

1) How close will Les get to his mom… If she’s being attacked by the others (Tiff, & the other ladies), will Les rise to Ann’s defense and to what degree?

2) What role will Al Gray play in the resolution of this? I think it’s clear that Al and Ann don’t see eye to eye on everything. Will he go after her as well? And how will his relationship with Les change, if at all?

3) I’m not confident that either of the Bergers will play a direct role in the resolution, except that I hope that Gunther is a source of “comfort” for Tiff as she moves forward. Only if Les goes “beserk” again might Gunther (and, perhaps his back pack) might get more involved.

As Dez said, unbelievable. If this isn’t a “retirement arc” (great phrase, Luann 1212) perhaps it should be – or, at least a “sabbatical arc”. It feels like a “jumping the shark” arc to me.

It seems that most have forgotten that there is no paper trail showing that Ann is the one putting on the lingerie show. If memory serves, she was able to get a pass on all that. My guess is that Les is the one who will be left holding the bag as it were unless Mr. Gray were to get involved.

So, how will this proceed now? Hmmm….

1) Will Tiffany confront her Dad? Will Tiffany confront Ann?

2) Will Mr. Gray step in? Will Mr. Gray fix things or will he get mired into the subterfuge?

3) What role(s) will Dez, Luann, & Bernice have in this situation now?

I wasn’t 100 percent certain about it, but I had this feeling that Ann Eiffel, aka “Lady Lingerie” was the girlfriend that had Tiffany’s dad wrapped around her finger. A small world, isn’t it?

I don’t see how they can be surprised. After Bernice’s and Brad’s experiences with Ann Eiffel, how could Luann not know who she is? How could Mr. and Mrs. DeGroot not know? And T.J. definitely knows.

@GARY COOPER: Bernice and Brad may or may not have talked about their Ann Awful experiences with Luann. I don’t really remember any discussions about them, but I’m not a long-term reader. However, unless Luann actually went to either the bookstore or Wienie World when Ann was there, and Ann was pointed out to her, I’m not sure how Luann would have known who ‘Lady Lingerie’ was…

Boy was I wrong in thinking that Ann could not be dating Tiff’s dad. I’m also disappointed as it shows his taste in women. We thought he had found a nice soul mate. I can’t imagine Ann Eiffel conforming to that description. Probably he took her to Paris where she saw the real lingerie and got the idea of getting rich off of fake versions.

Mr. Grey seems to always have “connections” with just about everything. My guess is that he’s an undercover agent, and he has the FUZE fitting with surveillance cameras, and is just collecting evidence against Anne. Tiffany and Bernice could be the nails in Anne’s coffin. Especially Bernice with her knowledge of what a crook and con Anne is.

Huh. So Tiff is calling this cheap rip off junk. Tiff has the “real thing” because she was able to afford to fly to England/France and purchase it (much more expensive then what Luann and the girls spent.) And neither Tiff or Luann and crew have a boyfriend, so having “the real thing” doesn’t seem to matter much. I want to blame Ann and call her a crook, but it seems she just figured out how to make women feel good through lowering the price point of femininity while Tiff seems to have figured out how to make her “friends” feel bad by holding them to a rather flimsy standard of authenticity. Personally, I’d rather be Ann. At least she’s making some cash and I really can’t blame her for exploiting a rather sexist situation supported by the Tiffs of the world for her own financial benefit.

BTW, I am getting really tired of Bernice and her double standards. Yes, Bernice may think Ann was an awful boss. However. Bernice is not any better, because she is not and has never been, in fact, a boss or a manager of any kind. Given her supposed empathy skills she might try volunteering or working in an HR department or going out for a management position. The first time you have to fire someone or make an unpopular decision can really change your perspective on what constitutes an awful boss.

Well, whoever said that Ann was Tiffany’s father’s girlfriend hit the nail on the head. Now that it’s known, I predict daddy will be breaking it off with Annie in the very near future once she’s revealed as a fraud.

@ASTAHL2003: I have to admit that I am puzzled that you would say that neither Luann nor Tiffany have a ‘reason’ to buy fancy lingerie since they don’t have a boyfriend. Every woman I’ve talked to about clothes (and I have to admit that this is not a big crowd) tells me that they don’t just buy sexy things to impress the guys in their lives, but to make themselves feel good about themselves (like Dez said “I’m worth it”).

According to federal law, the maximum penalty for first-time offenders trafficking in counterfeit goods is 10 years in prison and a $2 million fine. If Ann gets busted, we may not see her for a while.

Well I admit it would too good of a coincidence if this happened and was against it. But others called it. And it looks kind of good today when they make the connexion.

So Ann is Tiffany’s father’s girlfriend. I did not believe it. So, assuming Bernice has no love for Ann, the girls are now united in their desire to bring her down.

No spare time to say more or to read through comments, but WOW does this story line have potential.
