Former keeper of the Luann FAQ, until a "pro" user decided he didn't like it and started GoComics down this road of "no formatting, no links, no useful information." Now I rarely comment at all. And they still don't care that they deflated my enthusiasm.

Well, at least we don’t have to worry about social distancing at this funeral.

At least this answers one of my questions from yesterday … we last saw Frank and Nancy in a non-Sunday strip on April 4, 2020.

Now this is my idea of “shelter in place”.

I’d like to see Delta, in her last incarnation as the intelligent, progressive woman of color, come back for a visit along with her lesbian partner. That would do more to shake things up than Pru’s entire run in the strip did.

    Philosophically, I agree with you.

But that’s not how G&K work. Otherwise, we would still have recurring appearances by Delta, Crystal and Knute. Heck, Rosa could fly back from wherever it is she went. Dare I say it: Quill could even pop up (maybe he gets cast in some play being done by a traveling company and they book Pittsville).

I’m just reacting to the fact that G&K have introduced even more new characters in recent months (Bets, Stef, Tara, Jack) and the recent cameo by Hair appears to have been just a plot convenience. Even old Zebo hasn’t turned up in a while.

Meanwhile, we are treated to two types of story arcs … the ones that hurriedly come and go, apparently just to use old characters we haven’t seen for a long time (and leaving us to wonder each time if it will be the last) or longer, muddled story arcs that move slower than the story on The Young & The Restless.

Now we are faced with the probability that Pru is leaving the strip. I would have preferred that we find a good story arc that could feature her, because she never managed to be more than a bit player after she was introduced as the punchline to the joke of Quill visiting New York. And that was years ago.

For that matter, other than the standalone Sunday panels, when was the last time we saw Frank and Nancy?

Can we keep Pru and write Bernice out instead?

You’re going back a couple of decades with that, Ben. (And he spelled it Schroder.)

Apparently Rosalyn has discovered Stupendous Man’s secret identity.

I just had a far-fetched idea. Aaron Hill returns, asks Luann to come back to Hawaii with him, strip then shifts to being about Brad and Toni, alternating with Bernice/Tiffany/Gunther/Bets.

    Yeah, I know. Never happen.

This strip hasn’t been “funny” since Luann started HS and G&K turned it into a soap opera with occasional humorous dialogue.

Speaking of which, I am rather sorry to see the “lesbian thespian” (as she called herself back when the character was introduced) leave. I had rather hoped she would find a relationship in Pittsville.
