Never mind that “Obamacare” was once a REPUBLICAN plan, at least when a fellow named Romney pioneered it when he was governor. It was saddening to see the lengths to which he’d go to pretend he’d never heard of it.

Now Republicans are the Party of Trump and they crave ever increasing wealth inequality, NO taxes for billionaires or patriotic multinational corporations, voter and vote suppression (of Those People) along with gerrymandering and election nullification.

They are perfectly willing to have school children shot and killed or maimed.

They celebrate cruelty toward Those People, i.e. anyone not like them.

They admire those who LIE about every issue, and especially admire the insurrection and those who planned and coordinated it.

    (partial list)

    .

And above all: It’s OKAY If A Republican Does It.

But there is NO Republican Party now and Reagan himself would be tossed as a RINO. Are you a #ReaganRINO, too? As summarized in my pinned tweet:

The GOP is now DOA = Destructive Obstructionist Alliance of:

    Xenophobes

    Putin’s Fifth Columnists

    Fanatics praying for Armageddon

    Trumplicans praying to TFG

    GQP lunatic fringe

    Angry haters

Led by nihilist & fascist losers!

The contrarian party of Q is as silent as Q has been lately and rejects everything that would instill trust and respect in their unwritten policies. This is not surprising, as much of their base is a pseudo-theocratic cult that rejects the new testament tenets of welcoming the foreign migrants, caring for the poor, and inclusively loving everyone as their brothers and favors the hate and exclusion that can be cherry-picked from the old testament.

HERE is what the Republican Party USED TO BELIEVE. From a speech by REPUBLICAN Senator Daniel J. Morrell of Pennsylvania, in 1866: In his first speech in Congress Mr. Morrell uttered the following plea for labor: “The American workingman must live in a house, not a hut; he must wear decent clothes and eat wholesome and nourishing food. He is an integral part of the municipality, the State, and the Nation; subject to no fetters of class or caste; neither pauper, nor peasant, nor serf, but a free American citizen. He has the ballot, and if it were possible it would be dangerous to degrade him. The country stands pledged to give him education, political power, and a higher form of life than foreign nations accord their laborers, and he must be sustained by higher rates of wages than those of Europe. Our industries operated by American citizens must be freed from foreign interference and organized into a distinct American system, which will exact some temporary sacrifices but result in general prosperity and true national independence. In maintaining diversified industries we utilize every talent, provide a field for every capacity, and bind together the whole people in mutual dependence and support, assuring the strength and security of our Republic.”

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, to turn it into the bunch of craven, spineless cowards that they are today????

Oh, the long list of things the Democrats once stood for and no longer do so. However, I don’t have the time to even start. Yes, I’m a proud Republican and none of those long list of name calling (racist, xenophobe, etc.). Yes, I liked Trump but wouldn’t say the I’m a Trumpist. I liked Reagan better because he was a leader. Two big things about him that I really liked was that he stood up to the USSR (and the wall came down) and he stood up to the Air Traffic Controller Union (even though he had been a Union leader) when they illegally struck.

Republicans want to say whose vote counts and who’s doesn’t, they want to count the votes and then tell you who the winner is like Stalin.

When I was a kid, Democrats were “Do your own thing!” “Don’t trust the man!” Today they are, “Shut up and do what the government and the multi-billion dollar global corporation tell you!” Democrats used to be the party of tolerance and inclusion. Today they are the party of hate, advocating bullying and gaslighting anyone who disagrees with their narrow interpretations. I used to identify closely with the tenets of the Democrats. No longer. Trump insiders amassing slate of candidates to seize control of 2024 election

According to a report from the New York Times, two Donald Trump insiders who have been consumed with proving the former president was robbed of re-election, are forging ahead by backing and supporting a slate of over one dozen Republican candidates who could oversee election results in their respective states in 2024.

“It doesn’t really matter who’s running for assembly or governor or anything else. It matters who is counting the vote for that election."

Damning text messages reveal plot to give pro-Trump supporters access to Georgia’s voting machines

As Pagliery notes, the Washington Post has reported that “the Secretary of State’s office was investigating the matter. But the previously unreported text messages shed new light on who arranged the possibly illegal access to the computer and who was on the team that traveled south to do it.”

“Chaney, the elections board member, received word that the county GOP chair was on the phone with an Atlanta businessman who wanted access to the voting system computers there.”

According to the report, “Hall and the team made their way to the windowless Elections and Registration building. Hampton would later tell The Daily Beast that Chaney and Latham were there, and she recalled telling her junior assistant, Jil Riddlehoover, to stay quiet,” adding, “The team’s work wrapped up later that afternoon. Flight records show that the propeller plane left the tiny airport at 5:16 p.m. When Hampton reached out to Chaney that evening, he directed her to take the communications to an encrypted app with disappearing messages.”

The report notes that Trump’s team later “named Coffee County in a draft executive order dated Dec. 16, 2020, that would have authorized the nation’s defense secretary to ‘seize, collect, retain and analyze’ election equipment.”

Witness the Republican reaction to the January 6 hearings being televised this week. When the Watergate hearings were going on, Republicans ultimately knew that Nixon had to go and pressured him to resign.

With Trump, they have his back 100% no matter what. McConnell went from “Trump was responsible for what happened at the Capitol” to “But I’d support him if he ran in 2024”. Apparently being responsible for a riot where the Vice President might have been killed isn’t a roadblock to holding office for Republicans these days.

Woodward and Bernstein brand Trump the ‘first seditious president’

Whereas “instruments of American democracy finally stopped Nixon dead in his tracks, forcing the only resignation of a president in American history,” Woodward and Bernstein write Trump “not only sought to destroy the electoral system through false claims of voter fraud and unprecedented public intimidation of state election officials, but he also then attempted to prevent the peaceful transfer of power to his duly elected successor, for the first time in American history.”

Trump engaged in a “deception that exceeded even Nixon’s imagination,” they wrote, referring to the 45th president’s efforts to challenge the results of the 2020 election.

Carl Bernstein says Jan. 6 committee has evidence to show ‘real conspiracy’

“Already, from what I’ve been told … the committee has shown and acquired enough information from both documents and witnesses to show a real conspiracy going into the Oval Office to subvert the Constitution and electoral process in which Joe Biden would take office,” Bernstein told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Friday, referring to efforts to challenge the results of the 2020 election.

“And it goes from the White House to the insurrection at the Capitol itself,” he added. “There are many, many elements of this, but what this committee has done from what I can see so far is to establish both a timeline of the president’s conduct, a timeline of what happened involving the demonstrators, getting to [former Vice President Mike] Pence — all these pieces are starting to fit together, and the committee has an awful lot of the evidence.”

Fox News Anchor Confronts Steve Scalise With Eye-Popping Stat: Why Does the U.S. Have 5 Times More Gun Deaths Than Any Other Nation?

“In terms of the developed world, the United States far and away leads every other nation … in terms of gun violence,” Roberts said. He added, “The U.S. way out in front with four deaths per 100,000 people. The next closest nation is Cyprus, way behind at just below .7 deaths per 100,000 people. What you think is responsible for that discrepancy?”

As the report notes, many are followers of “a conspiracy-mongering QAnon leader and a Nevada politician,” with the Times reporting, “Members of the slate have won party endorsementsor are competitive candidates for the Republican nomination in several states, including three — Michigan, Arizona and Nevada — where a relatively small number of ballots have decided presidential victories. And in Pennsylvania, where the governor appoints the secretary of state, State Senator Doug Mastriano, who is aligned with the group, easily won his primary for governor last month.”

Rachel Hamm, running in California’s primary this week was remarkably candid about her aims, telling the group, “It doesn’t really matter who’s running for assembly or governor or anything else. It matters who is counting the vote for that election."

According to the Times, members of the group hold weekly conference calls to strategize and share tips that also include contributions from “fringe figures who have pushed ploys to keep Mr. Trump in power.”

The report adds, “Since its founding last year, the America First slate has ballooned from a handful of candidates to a high of around 15,” adding, “America First candidates could be competitive in at least four battleground states: Nevada, Arizona, Pennsylvania and Michigan.”

Political Christianity has killed biblical Jesus and replaced him with the Fascochrist.

“It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of thieves.” — Jesus (Matthew 22:13)

The poster children for these unChristian Christians are conservative evangelicals. But not so far behind is the senior management of the American Catholic Church. And as their numbers shrink — they have declined from 24% of the population in 2006 to 14% today — conservative evangelicals have become increasingly desperate to cling to their power with voter purges, voting hurdles, gerrymandering, and court-packing.

Their rhetoric has become more strident as they scare the mob with the “Great Replacement Theory” and dire warnings of CRT, obscenity, and the LGTBQ+ agenda lurking between the covers of school books and hovering on the lips of brainwashing seducers masquerading as teachers.

The base is so far down the rabbit hole that 64% of Republicans believe that whites suffer as much from racial discrimination as Blacks. And they believe their religious freedoms are being stripped away – despite Christians holding almost 90% of Congressional seats and nearly every governorship. And while their co-religionists pack state legislatures and infect the courts.

So successful has their agenda been that they are on the verge of striping women of a constitutional right they have had for 49 years. And America, nominally the most Christian country in the developed world, spends less than the average OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) country on social welfare.

So the RUSSIA, RUSSIA HOAX Wasn’t One After All: Tucker Carlson Admits that Russia Got Trump Elected

First of all, the entire free world has been shunning Russian oil in response to Vladimir Putin’s brutal and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine. That isn’t Biden’s fault. It’s Putin’s. And if Biden has supported that effort to stop funding Russia’s aggression, then he should be commended for taking the principled and moral position.

More to the point, Carlson’s statement that “It’s payback for getting Trump elected,” is an explicit admission that the so-called “Russia Hoax” was not a hoax after all. Carlson is finally conceding that Russia deliberately interfered in American politics on Trump’s behalf.

Of course, this is something that every well informed American already knew. Trump himself spoke of it during the infamous Helsinki Summit. Even Putin said so when asked “did you direct any of your officials to help” Trump? With Trump standing next him he replied, “Yes, I did.”

What’s more, a bipartisan report from the GOP-led Senate Intelligence Committee found that “The Trump campaign’s interactions with Russian intelligence services during the 2016 presidential election posed a “grave” counterintelligence threat [and] detailed how associates of Donald Trump had regular contact with Russians and expected to benefit from the Kremlin’s help.”

That is, by definition, collusion. And it’s also what the Mueller Report concluded, and was testified to by Robert Mueller before Congress.

    https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2022/6/4/2102269/-So-the-RUSSIA-RUSSIA-HOAX-Wasn-t-One-After-All-Tucker-Carlson-Admits-that-Russia-Got-Trump-Elected?utm_campaign=trending

‘Misinforms people at an industrial level’: Steve Schmidt slams Fox News — but is still hopeful about America’s future

“The reality is that there’s a sophisticated, complex, interconnected, global misinformation network, dubbed as ‘Fox News’ in this country, that misinforms people at an industrial level,” he explained. “Now 25% of the country is completely supportive of the MAGA movement, of Trump, I suppose of the insurrection.”

“The reality is though the overwhelming majority of the country is opposed to it. And I think the country will tune in here to the facts. The simple fact is that we live in a constitutional republic, it is the oldest in the world. That republic requires citizens who have a sense of both obligation and responsibility,” he continued. “A republic doesn’t function without informed citizens and so, the choices ahead, the facts that will be laid out, are important or significant, and the country will be exposed to them.”

“And at the end of the day, the facts are the facts. They will be overwhelming, the evidence will be laid out, my view is that the American people — we’re not passive about the future of the country. You can look at the 1930s — took a long time for people in the United States to awaken to the threat. You can look at the 1850s. you can look at other comparable periods of time before the progressive era, the beginning of the 20th century. When people awaken to a threat, they awaken,” he explained.

“People who first awaken look at dismay at others. The story is clear, when the American people are confronted overwhelmingly with facts they react to it, particularly when it speaks to the threat that faces a country that contains their children and their futures,” he concluded.

Police: 2 dead, 2 injured after shooting outside a Mesa bar

Mesa police say three people have been detained after a shooting that left two men dead outside a nightclub early Sunday morning.

It all started around 2:20 a.m. as officers responded to a shooting at the Lounge Soho near Southern Avenue and Longmore. As police showed up, they saw someone speeding off from the nightclub. Officers then started a pursuit which ended after six miles at Southern and Hardy Drive. That’s where they detained three people. Police say two men were found lying in the parking lot of the nightclub. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people, including a security guard, were taken to the hospital but are expected to be okay.

“This Is Racist Terrorism”: Ex-Buffalo Cop Says Gun Violence & White Supremacy Must Both Be Addressed

Cariol Horne, I wanted to ask you about the white supremacist gunman, 18 years old, who has now just been charged for murdering the 10 people at the Tops supermarket. Again, he, on Wednesday, was indicted on 25 counts, including domestic terrorism and murder as a hate crime, the first time a domestic terror law has ever been used in New York. Can you respond to the charges? He pled not guilty.

Well, 25 charges were not enough. He victimized everyone in that community, even the people who arrived on the scene after it happened and watched the carnage that he left behind. In our community, we were already open targets, because a lot of people in the community have been banned from having weapons themselves, which I think that if we are banned from having weapons, then everyone should be banned from having weapons. I really don’t understand why someone would need a high-powered weapon in the first place. A lot of times they use the excuse of going hunting. Well, when you’re hunting people, I think that you need to just ban the weapons altogether. There is no reason why someone should have to have a high-powered weapon like that.

Indeed. The deficit was at the top of the list for years…in which Democrats were in control. Btw, Both Sides Don’t.

GOP Moved From Conservative Principles to ‘Cult of Personality’

Former Representative Denver Riggleman said Sunday that the Republican Party has “moved away from conservative principles,” to a “cult of personality” surrounding former President Donald Trump.

His comments came during an interview on CNN after he was asked about remarks made by Representative Liz Cheney, a Wyoming Republican, who said there is “absolutely a cult of personality around Donald Trump” within segments of her party, in an interview that was released Friday.

Trump’s personality is crappy, no one wants to be like that lying racist insurrectionist.

Things sure have changed. There are no real leaders anymore, no one who can win hearts and minds. There are no more existential threats we can agree on. Everyone just gets into politics to make money. Everyone is a fraud.

Since it is a repeat, we can update it by adding to the above list the thoroughly reprehensible and despicably cowardly lack of any meaningful response to the leading cause of death in American children. The number one cause of death, do you understand that? Not stabbing, not motor vehicle accidents, not blunt object trauma, not ODs, not drowning, GUNS kill more American kids than any other cause. And as long as you think that your 2nd Amendment rights are more important than the lives of children you are a monster and a hypocrite, and I doubt Jesus is much impressed with you either.

I just LOVE these high prices on EVERYTHING. Gas almost $5.00 a gallon in some places, groceries priced so high you can’t afford to get much, higher taxes, higher interest rates. Wasn’t like this when the orange dude was in office. And to think, we have 2 more years of this. GOD HELP US

I wonder when Dems are going to develop enough backbone to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Biden from power, as they tried to do to Trump. Oh, right, almost forgot…one of you has to develop a brain first. I won’t hold hold my breath. It might cause me to turn BLUE.
