    Heh, well … if time passed normally GilPa would be what, deep into his eighties by now? I seem to recall in the original 1958 strips that he’d just graduated from State U. and Milford was his first job.

    Come now. We’ve had strips involving trainers shooting up pitchers with too much cortisone. We’ve had steroid abuse. We’ve had teen pregnancy. We’ve had alcoholism. I remember a strip where the star running back was derided because he was an orthodox Jew who wouldn’t play Friday night or Saturday day games. Rubin used to be unafraid of topical strips.

    The last time either of them featured in a story line was Keri in the summer of 2005 (based on the area gymnastics team she was on), and she was depicted as something like 11 or 12.
