Dr. Scuttles was a terrifying beast! I had a roommate back in the day that was a lot like Dr. Scuttles…..maybe a cousin.

Era malo y grosero, pero callado. (A diferencia de otra persona que conocemos.)

He was mean and rude, but quiet. (Unlike someone else we know.)

I wonder at Sir Fig’s worried expression in panel 3. Did he have a nasty encounter with Dr. Scuttles?

Is that Lupin’s 100th lifetime total number of broken vases, or just his 100th since Sir Fig and Tabitha moved in??

I think Lupin is Loki’s muse.

The God of Mischief with the Chieftan of Chaos, Lupin!

Lord of Lawlessness; Mayor of Mayhem; Harbinger of Havoc; Dr. of Disarray; Captain of Confusion; Director of Disorder. Little Lupin is known by many names in the Patheon of Gods and Heroes.

Tabitha, as the only cat who has captured the red dot, perhaps she can be the foil to Lupin’s Lunacy, and his vase ending red-pawed, toe beans and all glory.

That’s nothing. If he puts his whiskers to it, I’m sure that Lupin can be at 125 vases by the end of the year!

The votes are in and Hamilton Moves In is the clear winner. The single vote from my wife for “More Prince Valiant” will be ignored. I will begin writing this story this weekend. The hardest part is the beginning. If I can get that right, the rest of the story falls slowly into place.

Interesting. I wonder how Sir Fig and Tabitha know Dr. Scuttles since if I’m correct he was two floors below them. Always great to see the ceiling cats. Congratulations to Lupin on his record! Perhaps that can be an in-universe reason for his tribute next week.

    Tabith-Isis: Can he do it?

Beatrixia: You know he’s very close.

Puckmosis: Does he even know he’s close to setting a new record?

Elvis-Anum: Who cares? Anyway, I’d best put my inks and pens away.

    Sophititi: Shhh… Here he comes!

    THWUMP!

Maat-Tilda: And he did it! Lupinium demolished ten vases at the same time in one thwump for a new record!

Off Topic except cats: My cat BladeRunner, having eaten his breakfast kibble way too fast, walked clear across the kitchen to yark on the dog’s toy. It certainly looked intentional.

So Sir fig had at least one run in with the snapper but Tabitha none? From Sir Fig’s look in the third panel, I’d say he’d take the noise to the threat of a leg snapping bite.

I’m getting a second cat tomorrow: Smudge’s sister, Marshmallow. She is technically my great-granddaughter’s cat, but will be living with me as she is driving my grandson stark raving mad. Since I am as mad as the March Hare and the Hatter combined, the three of us should get along swimmingly.

O.T. Georgia posted this on facebook in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day "Today in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day, I want to share what this book has meant to me. You’ll see many articles about the banning of ‘Maus’ by Art Spiegelman in a school district here in America recently. I don’t want to discuss that or give it air. I want to save my energy for how terrific this book is and ask you consider reading it yourself and sharing it with your own middle school readers one day. When you feel they’re ready—our role as parents. No school or committee knows our children and the strength of their heart and character like we do. I read ‘Maus’ when I was in 7th grade. It is a hard, beautiful, heartbreaking read that has stayed with me my whole life. It was one of the graphic novels in my formative years that taught me the power of telling a story through not only words but images. That you can get attention on an important subject with vulnerable, relatable characters. And that few things teach like taking a reader aside and putting them into the shoes of someone else, letting them live their story for a few pages. Our peace is fragile, and our time here is so short. It was the 1940s a blink ago. Without understanding our role to protect and stand up for others, it could be the 1940s again in another blink. Our Jewish loved ones must always have people of all faiths and backgrounds at their side. There’s no time for hatred or cruelty, we’re only here for a blink. We must ensure love and kindness for others where and how we can, before we’re gone. This story is shared through mice, but it’s based on true events from Art Spiegelman’s father’s life. The early teen years are when we must begin to wake up to the harder parts of life, to grow wisdom to protect and guard ourselves and others. This book was banned for “profanity” and “nudity”. I promise, younger teenagers can handle it. "

I have yet to experience any of the cats I’ve had in the past or present to even knock anything off my counters, tables or desk. Angel (cat in my avatar) is very delicate. I’ve caught her on my counters and tables, but she never knocked anything off.

Lupin is very energetic cat that can’t hear, so he probably doesn’t know he is causing chaos and being noisy, but he sure does have a good time doing it!!!!

    OT

Talking about cats causing chaos from knocking things off shelves, counters and etc. This was like 2003 or so, my Siamese cat (Flint) was sitting next to my chair, when my then ex and I was talking about cats understanding things we say. My ex was like, no way cats can understand us. And I made a comment that the bookshelf we had with encyclopedias in it, that was covered with a big leopard towel to protect the books and held in place with a big cardboard tube, was never bothered by the cats we had at the time. Five minutes later, Flint walked over to the bookcase and removed the cardboard tube and crawled behind the towel and laid down. My ex and I were flabbergasted. Oh yeah, cats do understand what we say! Heehaw!
