Darnit Tiff, go with less to confront your dad and ann evil about ann’s evil ways. How many times do we have to tell you? Get off your lazy butt and do it.
Before the final panel, Tiffany sure looked like she was in a pickle.
I can understand Tiffany choosing the lesser of two unpleasant situations. And as long as daddy is willing to foot the tuition. What the hey!!
The lesser of two evils, coming up!
Ok, Tiff…you’ve decided. Now go to Daddy for the tuition money…and talk about Ann.
Yes Tiff, tell your father everything – take your friends for support, some evidence, and explain to your father that you’re concerned he is living with a criminal who someday may off him for his money!!!!
THE CLASSES OR THE WITCH, DECISION, DECISION!
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the greatest scoundrel of them all?
Thou, O Ann Eiffel, art the devious in the land.
I have contended all along that tiff isn’t really interested in college – she has attended because her dad will pay for her room & board plus spending money. Tiff is now facing a real job (server) plus summer school. Maybe Tiff will try to get into one of Gunther’s classes and receive some more help – a lotta help…
And thus begins the real education of Tiffany Ferrel. One business mogul, coming right up – in eight semesters or so!
Well, that’s one way to light a fire under Tiff’s fanny! Ah, the flame of education…
I really do hope she starts taking business classes and starts a new, independent life for herself…
Yes Tiff talk to your Dad.
What the point of this arc if she just not going to anything?
To me, it looks like her reaction to both circumstances is about the same.
Start with the business classes, Tiff.
Okay, it’s GOOD that Tiffany is continuing to further her education during the Summer, thanks to Ann.
1) What about Tiffany’s “Job” at the Fuse? Won’t that interfere with her studies?
2) Tiffany needed the help of “Study Buddy” Gunther to pass courses during the school year. Now that she’s walked out on him and HE is currently “occupied” by Bets, “Who” will be her Study Buddy now? Some other “New” character? Or Bernice? Or Bets? Or the mysterious “Doug?” Or that chess club guy she slammed the door on last year.
3) Who is gonna “Pay” for these classes? Ann is sure to Squawk at this extra expense on your part.
Hey, wait a minute. LET Ann Squawk! If she does, it’ll PROVE her greedy intentions. And Tiff SHOULD tell her dad if that happens. She’s are trying to further her education and her dad’s girl friend Ann is standing in her way. TAKE those business classes, girl! Take a LOT of expensive business classes just to SPITE the witch.
And just think. Tiff will not only be getting back at Ann but there is a chance that she’ll meet some new cute guy in classes.
Go forth and Conquer!
OMG… could it be that Tiffany is gonna become a gasp “brainiac?” Oh, the horror… the horror… LOL!!
Caught between Scylla and Charybdis.
Farily easy call there for Tiff!
I actually felt compassion for her in panel 2.
Once again the negative reinforcement of Ann Eiffel forces Tiffany to do something good for herself.Tiffany looks so scared to Ann…just thinking about her is Pain. Avoiding a bad person makes you do really weird things. Maybe this will bring Tiffany and Crystal closer again? Will Bernice decide to stay too to help Tiffany? Or maybe Gunther will do it?
She’s doing the right thing. With a father that’s so fooled. It’s hopeless. Why even bother. Sometimes absence can speak more volumes than words.
What was Tiffany taking in summer school last year, besides whole pizzas?
Since you’ve gotta do it, work toward your business degree with a sideline of your primary interests. Then you can make money on your own.
Wow. This is the first strip to suggest Tiffany is afraid of Eiffel rather than merely annoyed by her.
Tiff can still look good when Greg chooses not to emphasize her weight gain. Find her a ready and willing old guy, three times her age, and let Tiff light up his life while he happily pays the bills.
Classes will get Tiff somewhere. Anne will get her nowhere, so Tiff has chosen wisely. Now be gone, Borenice!
Panel 2 reminds me of a Marvel comicbook. LoL!
Looks like we’re still on a path that could lead to some summer fun. Apparently Bernice’s RA job will allow her to remain on campus. So we may have a summer of Bernice and Tiffany. Bonding and/or battling? There may even be some diversionary forays into Fuse waitressing, summer dating, a resurrection of Star Trek nights, dot, dot, dot. A whole world of summer fur lies before us! YAY!! (or not)
BTW – If Tom is funding Tiff’s .edu, and (we assume) Frank n Nancy foots Luann’s .edu bills, who ponies up for Gunther? (“Frank n Nancy” – sounds like a candle fragrance)
Choosing the lesser of two evils.
Wow…I know that feeling. Only it happens at work.
hey TRILOGY, check out today’s “Frazz” strip !
I think Tiffany is going to have a turning-point summer.
Pretty sure Tiffany has been there long enough to move out of the dorms without moving back in with Ann
…And a hand is forced. ‘Necessity’ is a ‘mother’, all right!!
I love her crossed eyes in the middle panel.
Careful… You might accidentally learn something.
Man, my heart goes out to Tiffany. Poor kid has precious few coping skills, and no one to parent her.
Tiffany is going to two schools. The other is The School of Hard Knocks.
Cosmetology or small business class.
To those of us who are Crystal fans I don’t think Greg saw the potential of this character beyond being Tiff’s goth snarky high school buddy. It’s a shame. With a bit of a makeover she’d fit right in with Tiffany’s journey into the real world
What happened to some kind of business class…since she wants to be an entrepreneur???
Aren’t there deadlines for enrollment? Or can you really wait until the last minute like this? And what if Ann convinces Tiffany’s dad to stop spending money on tuition and room/board?
Personally, I’m hoping this will get Tiff to not only be her own woman, but to effectively disown her father. People forget that, yes he’s an idiot, but he wants her and Ann to get along and be a happy family. Ann may “win”, but I get the vibe that if Tiff did cut ties with her dad completely, he’d fall into a deep depression to the point where even Ann can’t handle it. Greg Evans plays the long game with his story arcs, so it’s not unreasonable to think it could take that long.
I wonder if Crystal has either classes or a job…
Why would everyone assume that Tiffany would be unable to learn anything in a business class without a ‘study buddy’? It seems like business, rather than the science and/or math classes she needed Gunther’s help with, would be more in line with what Tiffany already understands. And on the other hand, why would everyone assume that Gunther would be a good ‘study buddy’ for business classes? Gunther is into engineering and computers, math and science type stuff. Not business.
I understand that Tiffany is in a bind but she is being entirely reactive to the Ann Eiffel situation. She’s running away rather than positively moving forward to better life choices and independence. I hope that changes.
Geez, Bernice, have some patience
The lesser of two evils
I knew a man who had twelve children. He told them he would pay for their educations as long as they were in school. Ten were so lazy that their earned doctorates. Two went out and got jobs. He was satisfied with the results.
They’re different kinds of bad. One is just difficult. The other is personal.
So she’s at collage, but she doesn’t know where to enroll in classes???
Give her a moment, Bernice! Tiffany is not used to making tough decisions. On one hand, she will be sacrificing her summertime for more homework and studying if she stays in the dorm. On the other hand, moving back home means having to deal with Ann while being ignored by her father. Tiffany has chosen the far lesser of two evils. At least she can get a head start on the business degree she’ll need to start TiffasNails.
Unless I’m mistaken, business courses teach about making presentations. What if Tiffany made a presentation about her manicure skills? Ox, and Bernice could help as test subjects (they both had samples of her skills). If Tiffany can do a convincing enough presentation, then the Board could introduce beauty classes into their curriculum.
Salons and spas are businesses, after all…
“Where do I enroll?”
Today’s arcs represent a major victory for Tiff who is choosing the path to independence and of studying for a degree.
Tiffany needs someone to tell her what to do. Period. Luann’s destiny is a bit clearer. She will meet a cute guy, get pregnant, quit college, have a quickie wedding, have another kid, and struggle for the next ten years.
I knew she was going to have to take classes.
Pick your poison, Tiffany!
The same place the last few semesters, online. There’s always some crap courses available for credits in the summer.
Sorry @ClarkKent46 she has already done that and failed.
First I think, as a teacher of intro to business classses in a community college, Tiffany could do well in those and other classes. It might me good for her to do the short class in Summer and if she does well, while balancing working, and trying to live with a realistic budget, or fascsimile thereof, Tiffany can beat Ann in the best sense, improving herself, My projection dictates that this would be the best choice, but this being Luannverse, who knows?
—In which we get to see Tiffany think! And, she comes to the correct conclusion, too!
I think this could actually be a good thing, particularly if she takes some business classes.
Accepting her doctorate she will owe it all to Ann. ;)
Truly, this could be Tiffany’s favorite semester of school. Just sign up for one class. An elective. Something fun.
