I was a labor attorney for an employer. Half the time the arbitrator would reinstate the employee with back pay in cases like this. They have to let the union win half the time or they’ll never get chosen as arbitrator.
Just like Goodyear tried to tell it’s employees, there are certain groups which were pretty much allowed to riot and rampage with impunity last year. Just need the right shirt.

I think Rat’s thinking is entirely reasonable.

Rat, Rat, Rat . . . You should have just poured the hot coffee on his crotch, as a warning.

That’s what happens when working next to the state Capitol. Only the politicians may commit non-PC conduct.

A cliche like the knee in the junk is a firing offence!
gopher gofer about 3 years ago
it’s not like he spilled hot coffee in the customer’s lap or anything…
aKG1 about 3 years ago
He was fired for wasting a pot of coffee, not the assault.
Flower Girl about 3 years ago
OK, that was funny- Schadenfreude. He didn’t show rat being arrested for battery, though…

Those cold-hearted *!@. How’s a guy supposed to make a living?

Rat, this is the age of political correctness. You are not allowed to beat someone up without them DEMANDING it.

The real reason is that Rat always puts cream in customers’ coffee – he was fired for being anti-black!

Typical case of blind american justice . And the judge was not going to look at the 27 8×10 glossy photos with circles and arrows ….

At least the word wasn’t knead. The censors would have been all over that.

I would think that Rat’s very presence in a food/drink establishment would be a health code violation.

The most unlikely part of this strip was that it was Rat’s first offence!! :)

Those of us in retail have often threatened to write a book about our customers and their absurdities. Think of the movie The Help.

There’s being un-PC and then there’s assault. …a bit of a difference

Because we all know employees who assault customers should be allowed to stay on the payroll. Not.
