I was wrong i thought it was Nancy or Frank.

Thought Puddles would need a walk. Then breakfast. Then play. Then naptime.

Time has affected the appearances of all the Luann cast… except Puddles.

Puddles, could go by another name but it’s taken by a Get Fuzzy character…Foodar.

Compared to the Tom-sees-the-light-and-kicks-Ann-out story line, this arc has felt like filler.

This arc is getting long and tedious. Please move on. It’s slower than an old soap opera comic.

There have been weeks when the Evansi take a break from the torture of Tiffany when they run an incredible dull story. At these times I suspect that they have been reading the comments, seeing how many people hated the Ann story and in a fit of resentment at these people attempt to punish us with something really boring. Something like this week’s strip.

Puddles! I don’t have a dog but am looking to get a rescue dog who could be my buddy. A little guy who would follow me around and keep me company. Maybe I could finally write my dissertation/book who knows? Anyway being in a house without a dog, ever, and getting up at night is not an experience for me. Neither, apparently is it for Bernice. Nobody hates on Puddles though so maybe we can avoid that so much here. I want a Puddles, sniff.

Tea and toast: as bland as Bernice, herself. Hey, Puddles, there really is life at that hour of the morning. Wow. How awful.

Yup, a dog can hear food being consumed from anywhere in the house.

Puddles shuffles when he walks. Riiiight.

This is an informative comic strip.

The first panel lets us know that Bernice raises a pinky when she eats toast. The second panel lets us know that Bernice does not chew with her mouth open. The final panel lets us know that Bernice puts no paint on her toenails or her fingernails.

Tomorrow: Bernice breaks wind and awakens the neighborhood.

This week’s arc has shown us that Bernice is a major people-pleaser. Several years of Sundays have shown us that she doesn’t have a great deal of empathy. Neither of those characteristics would make for a wonderful counselor. I’m hoping this little interlude is intended to let us get to know Bernice a little better in preparation for some storylines that are the results in her changing so that she could, potentially, be a decent counselor… or that would help her realize that she’s chosen the wrong career path. Maybe Nancy would have a role in this transformation or realization?

A girl can always hope!

I had a cat who loved potato chips, and she would come flying into the room whenever she heard me open a crinkly cellophane bag, no matter what was in it.

Awwwwww. Puddles is so cute ♡. Bernice will learn to have breakfast with the company of this precious, little dog♡. I’m clad Bernice is able to be happy in her new home ♡.

Opening the refrigerator door is usually enough to wake a sleeping dog.

Puds followed the smell of toast as well as movement in the kitchen. When food is being prepared animals are there.

I didn’t think the DeGroots would wake up. Just another indicator to me that Bernice is on her way out of the strip.

The dog is cute! But what will Evans do for a Sunday strip? They can’t have Puddles and Bernice hanging out in Luann’s room. Maybe tomorrow will be something interesting.

I am seriously tired of this thread. I’d rather have Anne Eiffel back.

I like dogs, although I don’t have one. They can really break into “me time”, what with being so loyal and attentive and hungry and boisterous and what IS that smell? :)

I was expecting for the whole family to be up waiting for Bernice.

He can hear the crunch of Toast from half a mile away.

The whole family is Awake. They just refuse to get out of bed.

Bernice is just having her pre breakfast to keep her until Nancy wakes up and whips up the eggs, pancakes and bacon. I do that some times if I wake up early and don’t want my real breakfast yet. You guys must get up super early because before I can even turn on my phone the first comments are 14 hours earlier.

Unlike some of the posters here, I’m not as long term a reader of this ‘toon. I also read ’Luann Againn’, and it seems that Bernice was not as snarky to Luann back when they were in high school. Does anyone know when Bernice started to talk down to Luann, and what caused her to do that? Just curious…

About the time Karen started writing the strip. Karen seems to hate the Luann character, so making Bernice snarky towards Luann seems natural.
