There have been weeks when the Evansi take a break from the torture of Tiffany when they run an incredible dull story. At these times I suspect that they have been reading the comments, seeing how many people hated the Ann story and in a fit of resentment at these people attempt to punish us with something really boring. Something like this week’s strip.

Puddles! I don’t have a dog but am looking to get a rescue dog who could be my buddy. A little guy who would follow me around and keep me company. Maybe I could finally write my dissertation/book who knows? Anyway being in a house without a dog, ever, and getting up at night is not an experience for me. Neither, apparently is it for Bernice. Nobody hates on Puddles though so maybe we can avoid that so much here. I want a Puddles, sniff.

This is an informative comic strip.

The first panel lets us know that Bernice raises a pinky when she eats toast. The second panel lets us know that Bernice does not chew with her mouth open. The final panel lets us know that Bernice puts no paint on her toenails or her fingernails.

This week’s arc has shown us that Bernice is a major people-pleaser. Several years of Sundays have shown us that she doesn’t have a great deal of empathy. Neither of those characteristics would make for a wonderful counselor. I’m hoping this little interlude is intended to let us get to know Bernice a little better in preparation for some storylines that are the results in her changing so that she could, potentially, be a decent counselor… or that would help her realize that she’s chosen the wrong career path. Maybe Nancy would have a role in this transformation or realization?

    A girl can always hope!

As long as you’re up Bernice, you can feed Puddles, and, take him out for his morning walk. You might even catch Brad, and, or, Toni leaving for a shift a thier fire stations. You could become another baby sitter for Shannon.

what is even this storyline…i know you’ve all been complaining about it but seriously…like what is this…hi i am person who lived in dorm for over a year…but now living with people i’ve known nearly my entire life is super duper awkward and i can’t make noise and and and

like this girl needs to get it together all freakin ready…for all the issues with Gunther…give him credit he starts figuring stuff out…Bernice I swear continues to fail to just figure out life…she’s book smart but my god her common sense smarts are so lacking

the other part is like…seriously the DeGroots heard you had a problem and just said hey it’s okay we can help you out…basically you’re almost like a second daughter…i just would like to see this stop being this ridiculous awkwardness like omg but I was only here before hanging out in Luanns room but now that I sleep in Brad’s/Pru’s old room I’m totally flabbergasted by everything

Unlike some of the posters here, I’m not as long term a reader of this ‘toon. I also read ’Luann Againn’, and it seems that Bernice was not as snarky to Luann back when they were in high school. Does anyone know when Bernice started to talk down to Luann, and what caused her to do that? Just curious…
