Instead of asking “what happened with Trixie?”, Tracy should have asked “where is Trixie living nowadays?”

Don’t think he’s being arrogant at all – he’s just been asked about a particularly difficult and troubling period in his life, and about a person whom he chose to share his life with, but who turned out to be a conniving and manipulative money chaser, who rejected his “daughter” Annie, sent her away from the house, and tried to have her dog killed. His eyes are closed in panel two, as he contemplates what happened with Trixie, and he finishes in panel three with a simple statement about his frustration at having tried to make the marriage work. Those are not the actions and statements of an arrogant person.

Belief is in the eyes of the beholder – I don’t know, sure looks a heck of a lot like her, but maybe the Annie in today’s strip is just a cartoon caricature of the real Annie…

@tsull2121Not sure what the chief means by “the witness’s testimonial being missing” – was it a statement (prepared by the police or prosecutor) that the witness swore to and signed, or her typed up Grand Jury Testimony???

  9. 10 days ago on Dick Tracy

The thing is – with Grand Jury Testimony, the witness’s sworn testimony is 1st recorded by a court reporter on the reporter’s transcribing machine or memorialized on a tape recorder or disc – the testimony is then transcribed into a transcript of the witness’s testimony. If the latter transcript is lost or stolen, the reporter can be called in at the trial to read the testimony or if a disc or tape recording was made, if properly authenticated, it can be played to the jurors.

Unless they find Trixie soon and before the trial, BB is going to beat the rap – and justice will definitely not prevail…
