Ski flying is fun.

Bob, stupid won.

At least he handed off his beer…

May we each and all have a reasonably happy, reasonably prosperous, SANE new year!

Bob is reconciling his resolutions by pushing the boundaries of stupidity.

The first morning of the year, after a night of celebration, might not be the best time to make these kinds of decisions.

I hope each of you has a wonderful New Year and pray that you will find peace and friendship wherever and whoever you are.

And, as this is my 84th new year, I will add this that I have learned. One sure pattern for life is to hold tight to your families and loved ones, your deepest beliefs, and your sense of what is right.

Hold tight to your self-respect, your respect for others, and your love of your country

Hold tight to the truth that, while no one is your better, no one is less.

Hold tight – as bad as your pain is, others suffer more.

Know it is up to you – always was and always will be. Hold Tight

I imagine the southern hemisphere version of this toon is set in the Happy 50’s involving water skis and a shark (Mr Miller and this strip is far from doing that)! Happy New Year!

Not exactly expecting the thrill of victory here, are we?

Anyone else remember the intro to Wide, Wide, World of Sports, with the skier symbolizing the ‘agony of defeat’?

Too late, it’s the pearly gates (or the fiery pit) for him. Happy New Year.

When you want to push boundaries, it’s a good idea to take the time to learn about what you are doing. He didn’t do that or he’d know you don’t ski jump with poles.

Jumping to that very (ultimate) conclusion.

Just think of the impression he’s gonna make on all the ladies watching him from the bottom of the jump.

This realization should have occurred to him at the top of the hill.

No guts, no glory!

Hammocking, folks, hammocking, it’s the ONLY sport worth participating in.

Or maybe some limits about which boundaries to push.

Though I have to admit, being stupid sometimes works out to be a lot of fun.

But you don’t get the rush unless there is a real chance of dying. Adrenaline makes me nauseous, though.

Sorry, but you DO have to be kind of stupid to strap a couple of boards to your feet and jump off a mountain…

There are better ways to fly.

I don’t ski so I would probably fall at the top and slide down.

Trespassing on the Ski Jump is pushing the Wrong Boundary.

Especially since it hasn’t yet Snowed enough to cover up all the Rocks on the slope.
