    There’s a time and a place for a gun/

and the living room isn’t the one/you and I might select/to achieve an effect,

but that’s where the deed was done..///

    The tale is incredibly trite:/

    On an icy December night,/

    He chanced to discover/

That his wife had a lover/

With his rifle he put things aright…///

Though the coppers have searched the estate/

They still haven’t (at least to this date)/

    Located the body/

    Of that sly bounder “Roddy”../

And they won’t – ‘cause it’s stuck in the grate///

    Of the ancient, historical weir/

That is less than a half mile from here/

    And his Lordship’s at peace:/

    Her transgressions did cease/

Since she lives in a climate of fear.

I see Tepper is described in Wikipedia as an ‘illustrator’.

Someone once asked Maxfield Parrish the difference between an ‘illustrator’ and an ‘artist’.

He replied, “Oh, about twenty thousand a year.”

    Under the Gun

    Paste (including the quote marks)

    "Under the Gun, 1925" Heritage

(syntax supported by the Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, and Ecosia search engines) in the browser address bar (or search for it using one of those search engines) and choose the first Heritage Auctions (Fineart.Ha.Com) link found for info about this roughly jumbo envelope size painting. Copyright issues keep me from posting this to WC.

Again, a larger strip image is shown by (Ctrl- or right-) clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #3234 (December 11, 2023) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment, and using the dropdown menu (even larger, if you trim what’s after .png from the URL). I have added a comment there pointing to info about this artist I used to point to here. So far, 2 works by him have been used here, the November 29, 2023, strip being the prior, once its western gunfight scene has been restored (currently is showing what originally ran November 30, 2023).
