I gotta agree with you there. I think higher education has gone all in on profit chasing, and cranks out degrees without regard to their utility, or the fact that the degree holder will be paying off student loans for decades.

Turn it around. Suppose a Chinese top general had called Milley to express such reassurances. What do you think Xi Jinping would do to him? Justifiably?

I have fun pooping alone. In fact, I find the idea of a group poop daunting.

I’m an elderly, white, heterosexual, Christian, Conservative male. The world stands in line to blame me for their real or imagined problems. Meh. Too bad. I would have to value their opinions to be upset by them.

You’ve a good argument persuasively made, and certainly in accord with current and accepted fashion. Though compelling and truthful however, your position is not the whole truth, which I maintain is that human societies throughout time and history always include one or more subgroups exercising more power, more ‘privilege’ if that word is preferred, than others. One of the things making current America unique has been our commitment, in theory at least, to striving for equal treatment under law, and more recently, equal opportunity. History shows that though the group in power may change, it is inevitable that another group will rise to take its place and exercise privilege in turn. The bottom line is that putting emphasis on how I differ, how my group differs in prideful ways from others, or how and why my group deserves compensatory treatment, does not inoculate against prejudice nor foster unity in a society, it instead promotes and encourages conflict.

We stopped celebrating and emphasizing our unity and commonality as Americans when we started promoting and encouraging our Diversity and and Identity Group Entitlement grievances.
