Oh, my, feeling tetchy? I’m to mute my opinion because it may differ from yours? Not surprising; your avatar image reveals both your politics and your Weltanschauung.
Why should a gal take the whole pig when all she wants is a little pork?
Hillary was glad to lend her her copy.
The life of a traveling vacuum salesman in the nineteenth century was very difficult indeed. The lack of electricity in itself meant hours of extra work,
Fortunately I’m retired and don’t have to. Bottom line is most of what we do/choose is NOT Black or White. We all weigh the benefits and risks and costs every day, and make informed consent decisions based on the info we have at the time.
I suspect that’s a false dichotomy. Like many other life choices, informed consent must come into play: “Here are the choices, and here are the risks – and consequences – of all.”
Our society apparently has a very strong belief that people should live forever. Oh, if asked, we will realistically respond that people of course are NOT immortal, yet we act as if no one should ever die. If someone does die, our response is that it’s someone’s else’s fault – if the at fault agent had only been careful enough, trained well enough, prepared enough, etc. the death would not have occurred. This implicit delusion has brought us to our appalling “sue the bastar-s!” legal morass.
Here’s a reframe: We can divide the population into two groups – those who are getting paid, and those who are not. Those getting paid are heroes, but it’s much easier for them to say, “be patient”, than for those who are not.
A history of bad decisions confirmed.
Likewise my apologies for being snide in my response. I remain committed in theory to civility and cogent relevance in my comments. I plead a growing frustration and impatience with what I see as ever increasing intolerance and hypocrisy on the Left for throwing me off my game.
