too bad Portland, Oregon doughnut shop Voodoo Doughnut wasn’t around back then; it — having a variety of bizarre concoctions — was established in 2003

Our beloved Stan’s Donuts in Westwood (near UCLA) had a “Reese’s” donut with peanut butter and chocolate frosting. Sadly, they couldn’t last through the pandemic (and through healthier eating trends) and closed after 55 years in business.

I am certain Dunkin’ Donuts has had that are their menu every now and then.

Sounds tasty to me.

Does the Peanut-Butter Doughnut come with a strawberry jam filling?

What’ll that accomplish, Linus? Make Charlie’s lunch seem less boring?

Not even Dunkin sells those.

Never got into peanut butter & jelly. My thing was super-chunk peanut butter & crackers.

Well, it’s interesting.

Dunkin’ Donuts has never made a peanut butter donut, I guess.

At least it’s not dull.

Nowadays some schools and playgrounds are banning peanut products because so many kids have peanut allergies. That’s something you rarely heard of when I was growing up.

Peanut butter in the batter? PB filled? PB glazed or frosted?

In the 70s they couldn’t imagine this would actually be thing. I’m in. With a little honey.

I wonder if Charles Schulz ate his school lunches out on the playground. Most strips show cafeterias. Mu grade school didn’t have one- I never ate in a cafeteria until junior high. But prior to that, we didn’t eat lunch at school- we went home for lunch, and then came back for afternoon session. There were very few exceptions- kids who couldn’t go home and back for whatever reason. They would eat in a special break room with a small kitchenette. It’s been so long that it seems weird now, but it was normal to us then.

I only like peanut butter in chocolate (bars) etc. I never liked it on sandwiches.

The power of suggestion, now I smell doughnuts and peanut butter. Not sure how it would taste as a combination, but would be willing to try it once.

Tim Hortons has a Peanut crunch donut. A few of the other Tim Hortons favorites:

A donut with a sour cream cake base that is dipped in an orange zest icing and topped with a candied orange peel and chopped cranberries;

A Tim Hortons original glaze donut mixed with vanilla to create a vanilla bean dip donut;

A donut featuring a dark chocolate crust, praline almond spread and toasted coconut topping.

Several weeks ago I had the chance to try Peanut Butter Beer, I don’t recommend it.

Bleah! A doughnut only my wife could love. She’s nuts about peanut butter; I say getting peanut butter within 10 feet of anything intended to be a treat or dessert is a crime against humanity.

Well now I know what I’ll be craving all day.

This is kid stuff now.You should see the stuff Krispy Kreme comes up with,especially on Holidays.

More exciting thaan some of what is coming out now.

I can see peanut butter in a raised donut, but not a cake donut or a cruller.

Peanut butter is good in almost anything! But this strip must predate the idea that a donut could come in anything but “donut” flavor!

What’s wrong with that? (Or a bagel with peanut butter spread on it instead of cream cheese…)

Sounds pretty yummy to me, although I prefer maple or coconut donuts.
