Still bossing Gunther around, I see. She is just another Tiffany. As if we need another Tiffany. She is just smarter.

Meanwhile, in Bets’ purse, Gunther’s manhood…

Well Bets and Tiffany definitely have one thing in common…they both are BOSSY to the men in their life.

Oh gross, I was right about the costumes. This dinner/Halloween party is going to wind up on YouTube—or the news, if TJ burns the house down.

So Bets, who loves to cosplay doesn’t know how so sew? Or just doesn’t like to sew? So is she into Gunther because he’s neat> oe is she really into his sewing machine.

Betts knows what Gunther likes to do, and they do enjoy each other’s company. I hope Gunther has time to make the costumes.

Les seems to be the only one getting that there’s a whole lot of exploitation going on here—but then he has learned all about the topic from his mother. Here’s hoping that somebody calls Tiffany and Bets on this before they oh-so-unconsciously slip down that moral slope and wind up like Ann. I suspect Les will point it out and Gunther will blurt it out, and for once those two will work as a team.

Hmmm – aside from the obvious that Bets seems to be running their relationship, it appears that wild pattern rug that Gunther paid nearly $700 for is gone, and Gunther’s beanbag chair is gone.

Bets is either going to learn a life lesson like Bernice just did, or she is on her way out of the strip.

Betts, you didn’t ask Gunther if he wanted to be a part of this. Shame on you!

Is it just me or Bets seems to be manipulative with Gunther?!

Someone above said Bets may be just another Tiffany. Not sure what to make of it.

Both women seem to expect everything from their “others,” significant or otherwise.

Bonus surprise this arc: Les may be the most astute character in the entire arc.

I know Bets likes Gunther.But I sometimes wonder if she takes him for granted.

Avast ye swabs, and shiver me timbers, …. Gunther should sew that puffy pirate shirt featured on Seinfeld for himself, ….and a tight, tight, tight wench costume for Bets ….. if he dares …..

Exponential Artistic Liberty here – but maybe some laughs coming up. Les is acting as the chorus in this drama.

Bets would give Ann Awful a run for her money.

Gunther is totally p-whipped… although since this is the Luannverse, he and Bets have not even slid into 1st base yet..

Bets is excited here, and I think Gunther will only do what he wants and what she wants will be what he wants, for now. Now is not the time for that to change. This arx is focused more on Tiff and Bets, although I can see a loyalty curve possible.

I think this whole thing will explode that Bets is putting everybody to work for her influencer gig. as Les involved w both Tiffany’s work wher ehe’s getting paid almost nothing and watching Gunther sewing two whole costumes for an Instagram photo op, Les will speak up and be a friend for Gunther that sh’es just kinda using people. Les will explain what she asked of Tiffany, and Gunther will slowly come to the relaization that Bets isn’t just using him, but ALL of his friends. He’s already had history not liking her Influencer career.

Unfortunately, Gunther seems to be nothing more than a cog in Bets’s social media machine.

Similar to Rosa Gunther breakup Gunther was living Rosa’s dream.

Les is living the dream. He plays video games sitting in a beanbag next to his beloved cat ♡. What a cute image♡♡♡! Bets is still strong in her Pirates idea and Tiffany is strong in her Classic-Fancy idea and Gunther has to sew… I like where this story is going!

Oh, he “gets” to do that, huh? Sheesh.

Somebody really needs to set Bets straight about her pushy, bossy ways, and Gunther needs to realize that Bets doesn’t care about what he wants. She’s just in this relationship for herself.

She’s in for a nasty shock when she and Gunther show up at Tiffany’s elegant dining setting in pirate costumes.

Here we go again with the cosplay control freak / attention wh#$% Bets. She is just plain creepy borderline psycho with this addiction that she has to force on him.Oh sure, lets have a romantic dinner for two but actually we’ll be tweeting our every move in costume. Les at least has her down pat, Kick her to the curb Gunther.

I thought Les was at the Fuse. He shouldn’t be surprised because he is the help for TJ to cook. And probably clean up after.

Bets is nice enough, BUT, I don’t like how Gunther “Gets” to sew costumes, more and more like she just keeps him around for his Hemming prowess. And I’m pretty sure Les can see it also with his “Surprise” comment. Living with Gunther, he sees first hand how Bet’s is using him, even if she / he doesn’t see it that way.

Les is cooking up a plan to spoil the evening.

Why are they still a couple? She is awful!

Once again, Bets making all the decisions, and then announcing to Gunther what he has to do.

Love reading these comments. Lots of people with issues and fears out here, but that’s what art is supposed to do. I always prefer strips like Luann with ongoing stories where the characters age (even sloooowly) and grow and reflect some real life issues. Gunther is a young guy, and Bets is a growth opportunity. He’s learning about relationships and himself. She likely won’t change (unless she becomes main cast which is doubtful), but Gunther likely will as his arc moves along.

Those don’t look like pirate outfits. They’re space suits with a karate flair.

Poor Gunther. Even though she is rude and manipulative he will never end it with Bets. She’s the only girl that admires his nerdy ways and sewing interests. He gets to be who he really is with her. LOVE seeing PUNK!

Bets is a user. She has all these great ideas, but someone else has to make those ideas work. Once Gun stops being useful or does not do her bidding, he is trash like yesterday’s news.

Hmm not liking Bets at all right now. Pushy, demanding, entitled… Gunther doesn’t seem to like it either. I wonder how this is going to turn out. Les clearly sees what is going on.

On a totally different topic, is Les a college student or is he just working at the Fuse as part of his deal with his uncle? I’m trying to figure out if we never seen him study because he’s Les and that wouldn’t go with his personality or because he’s simply not a student.

The good news is that Les is, apparently, kind to the cat.

Either Bets and Tiff did not compromise or this is it. Isn’t she supposed to be helping Tiff with a business plan and trial run for that business? I suppose there are many folks obsessed with costume fantasy as she seems to be, but she’s bossy today. Explained nothing to Gunther. One track mind and wants to drag anyone along with her. Hope Gunther asks about the dinner. Either this will work out or be a disaster.

Bets is such a demanding ‘user’ and I really dislike that aspect of her character.

Bets and Tiff have more in common than I thought— each gets so consumed by her own dreams that she takes too much advantage of friends and family.

This must be a contest to see who can be the bossiest – - Bets or Tiffany. Poor Gunther will not be able to sew both costumes by the weekend. I wonder when Tiffany has them booked?

Les knows Tiffany is planning a Formal dinner and now knows that Bets is planning some costume party. I wonder if Les will say anything to either woman or maybe warn Gunther what he is getting into.

If we’re talking HUGE train-wreck; Tom will be alarmed when he finds B&G&T, sharing a bed…

I liked Bets at first but absolutely cannot stand her now. People who use every trick in the book to control & manipulate you in order to further their own selfish agendas are the WORST.

Maybe Bets and Tiffany will have a huge fight at the Elegant Dinner and Gunther will see how awful Bets treat his friends. That might make him end his relationship with Bets.

Will Gunther tell Bets that he doesn’t have time to make those costumes now?

This arc is rapidly headed toward the absurd.

Gunther may be busy, but over in Pibgorn, Luda really has her hands full with Padraig.

I like Bets enthusiasm, but her consideration for others needs a LOT of work.

Might not be the best way to bring things, Bets.

So, Les is still giving Gunth disrespect over his Sewing Hobby.

Perhaps someone should tell Les how much a Tailor can charge for a “Bespoke” Suit?

Other than Frank and Nancy, and Toni and Brad, everybody else seems so put-upon. You’re young. Enjoy life, before it passes you by!

Simple solution that has zero possibility of being used:

The Tiffany for Two dining area is a cell phone free zone.

With a warning sign that TJ will drop any phone discovered into the fondue.

Cosplay “Pirates” though Bets’ looks more American Indian.

If you want a REAL pirate experience…go out and steal the food and drink. Pelosi’s palace would be a great place to pillage for dessert. She has $16 pints of gourmet ice cream in her $24,000 Subzero fridge.

Sometimes the things you do best are not the things you enjoy doing.

Hard to tell if Bets actually likes Gunther, or is using him for his sewing skills. Her addiction to “influencing” is boring. She must think that Gunther sews with supersonic speed for him to create TWO costumes in a couple of days. I like the idea of Tiffany as entrepreneur, she has good ideas (Tiff as Nails) but no know-how.

Bets just lets herself into Gunther and Les’ house?

Suck it up, Guns — she’s still the second-hottest lady in the strip!

Bets is filled with enthusiasm, but it the expensive “high maintenance” kind. This is a bit of a worry, though I imagine Gunther will dutifully prepare the costumes. The question is, what will Tiffany do, cave in or Just Say No to the “pirate theme” dinner extravaganza?

No good can come of this . . .

I was there from 1980 to 1984. Despite the Women’s Rights movement, there were still a lot of princesses on campus, living up to every stand-up comedian’s joke.

I didn’t even know what a trust fund was.

Another sign Bets is wrong for Gunther, she can’t just have him stop whatever he’s doing and cater to her whims.
