So after over a year, Bernice finally got just what she was after. I hope she doesn’t later find out she has “buyer’s remorse”.

Looks like Piro is a heck of a lot smarter than I’ve been giving him credit for. He must’ve figured he’d be old and grey by the time Bernice ever made a move. Good for him.

Gunther’s going to perish as an old maid.

The question is how exactly will Bern react.

It’s over, game,set, and match, except for Tiffany, she still is due to come in. Remember its only Wednesday. But it is cute, and sweet. There was a reason Piro was humanized, and why Bernice is so crazy over him. I hope this goes somewhere, Bernice needs a man BAD. And Piro might just be the one, time in Luannverse will tell. But the other needy female, and she is right around the dorm corner is Tiffany Farrell.

Meanwhile, in real life, Piro and Bernice ignore the security guard’s advice to leave the building and follow him to Room 213 to see all the action. After all, as RA, Bernice knows who lived in Room 213 and either can’t believe they would rob a vending machine or always knew they were capable of such mischief.

Okay, Tiffany. You’re clear to go after Gunther now.

The interesting thing now would be, if Piro and Bernice become a thing, and Gunther gets angry like he did when his mother started seeing Mr. Grey…

As Bernice starts to question Piro about his incredibly stupid motivation, Piro suddenly realizes that he has no real answers for her except, “I guess I am actually that stupid”, so to save himself he goes to the favorite fallback of great romantic stories of the 1940s, “Kiss the woman to get her to stop asking questions you don’t want to answer.” Piro’s problem is that I don’t think this trick will work with Bernice. Once his lips leave hers, she is going to start talking again and asking questions, only those questions will be tougher ones like:

1. So, does this mean we’re a couple now? What are you doing tomorrow night, and this weekend, and the rest of our life?

2. Since I have just proved I can have a guy in my room after midnight and the guard doesn’t care, want to sleep over?

3. Hey! Why do your lips taste like Tiffany’s lipstick?

4. I thought you told me you didn’t eat all the Matzos yourself?

5. Your beard tickles. Oh I guess you have heard that before. Have you heard that before?

6. Did you know you close your eyes when you kiss? I don’t. I like to look. Why don’t you like to look at a girl when you kiss her?

8. Do you realize this may be the first time I was in competition with Tiffany for a guy instead of Luann? Now I know how Luann felt all those times.

I figured when Bernie escorted him out, she would really plant one on him. It went the other way. Perhaps, by giving her a kiss, he might have figured that he’d be heading right back in instead of being escorted out.

Only thing is… Some people kiss, and it’s all “mist and violins” or “fireworks”. But some people kiss, and it’s “soggy rain falls down”…or “bubbles pop” or “Aw, there’s junk in my mailbox!” or “Tuna fish for lunch, again?”. Wonder which this could be?

This slightly reminds me of “The Wonder Years”, only in the way of ‘Kevin and Winnie kissed, because she looked like she needed the comfort of a friend, and the moment seemed right", though it actually led to some ’on and off romantic kisses’ between them, along the way. Wonder if they would follow in the same (or similar) path, with the “Wow, why are we together, sweetie?”, followed by “Wow! Why again are we together, jerkface?”.

If they start dating I wonder if Evans will end their realtionship in a couple of years.

If Bernice and Piro become an item, I wonder how the Evans will address the issue of their “intimate” relationship. It will be interesting.

Well. Greg finally decided to move this arc along. So now he’s her “knight in shining armor?” Is the Bernice arc going to devolve into Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty? OR… something edgier.

Sweet!! I love this strip today. I was afraid all we’d get today was Campus Cop knocking on a door and then a frame with just the door and a shadow of a figure. Maybe Bernice will actually calm down after this. She appears to have at least gained a study buddy and a new friend.

I didn’t see that coming! I am glad to see that Ernie e’s dreaming was not for naught… she’s been a loyal (if snarky) sidekick and it’s nice to see some new friends and adventures… maybe even romance… coming into her life. But I have to admit I’ll be disappointed if she gets away with all that scheming. Not the curfew infractions, that’s part of dorm life and growing up. But letting her get away with the Tiffany inventory reinforces both “the ends justify the means” thinking, and thinking of Tiffany as a dumb blonde. I’m more interested in the Evanses addressing that loose end than the whodunnit.

Nows your chance! tell him to grow in that stupid patch of hair!!!

Who cares about Gunther? He’s gay anyway. PIro on the other hand is probably homeless, and if I were to make further guesses he’s an addict in recovery…..

Sweet. I do hope that expressive eyebrow of Bernice’s doesn’t mean a slap because of the unexpected and shock. I say, “Yay!” too.

If this was a soap opera, Tiffany would be peeking around the corner and witness the gentle, little kiss. Then what? I think Bernice will be shocked, but receptive to Piro’s show of affection. But, the mystery of the pilfered machine still remains. I think that it just might be skipped over like a rock on a pond, sailing off into nowhereland.

I’m with PHILLIPB. All this reads too much like a repressed young woman’s fantasy/dream. Makes no daytime/realworld sense that a serial illegal couch surfer would risk a criminal record to save the fair damsel from a – gasp! – 2-hour curfew violation. Or would be so naive as to think that he could prevent the campus cop or city cops from reviewing the security footage of an actual crime. And the last two panels are right out of a repressed fantasy (sappy dialog, unsolicited kiss and all). I’ll even throw in Piro’s surprise appearance at the beginning of the sequence, knowing about a course that Bernice took, and asking for help. Right when she could have fallen asleep while studying. If it IS a dream, the Evanses are risking the ire of their fans. If it isn’t a dream, they’re risking the ire of fans of good storytelling.

In the end, it looks like Bernice’s evil plan worked!

The thing that would top this off, or make for a memorable scene right after the kiss (or even briefly during) is if a slight trumpet sound emanates… And in a couple of moments, they had to fan their noses. Not romantic, per se… But a memorable scene, nonetheless.

Sometimes, those moments of “human beings just being human” is just as treasurable for the silly things that happen (unplanned, natural, accidental, even) during our times of interaction with each other. Also shows whether or not the person(s) enjoys/has a good sense of humor…and how they deal with things that happen, outside of their control….

Alrighty…………..The revealing of Piro as Mooney student and a human being with feelings has made this arc one of the best……looking forward to seeing Bernice’s response. Sometimes it is the geeks and nerds who get all the best college experiences.
