pretty well summed up, Brad
Ah now you’re ruining that great oaf image that you worked so hard and long to create.
Brad is saying the right thing, but will Toni respond with “I did too”?
Why do 2 songs come to mind, based on the dialog? Tom Petty- American Girl: “God, it’s so painful, something that’s so close… but still so far out of reach” and of course, the Rolling Stones: “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” (you get what you need)
Now THAT’S the right attitude! I’d rather share a tent with my husband than live in a mansion with somebody else. (In fact been there, done that. At our very lowest point, in a swaybacked pup tent, I called Grandma just to cry on her shoulder, and she said she’d wire money to the post office for me to come back to her—but just me—and that’s when I realized that I’d rather be anywhere with my darling than anywhere without him. I declined.)
Awwww! These kinds of thing just melt my heart kind of miss their dynamics by far the best work that Greg has done… I know I give him a ton of S*** with his new characters but their story is what made me come back to Luann I just happened to be reading just as Brad joined the EMT class that was before the Firefighting class
Aw Brad you are the romantic.
Toni is absolutely melting right now. She’s absolutely loving brad’s sweet words. Way to go bro.
Really like Brad’s comment. This would be a good ending for this arc…
Brad… you may not have gotten that house – but you definitely have a “home” (Toni).
Awwww… So sweet. Boy gets lucky tonight. :o)
“They say our love won’t pay the rent
Before it’s earned, our money’s all been spent
I guess that’s so, we don’t have a plot
But at least I’m sure of all the things we got
I got you babe
I got you babe"
Sonny & Cher
Re “You can’t always get everything you want.” Including a $500,000 Mortgage.
This is so sweet, I love this.
Brad’s come a long way from the lazy, immature schlub he was in the beginning, that’s for sure. :D
Perfectly said Brad – no longer the gross couch potato. Under what was a rough exterior, Toni has found gold. These two should have a long and happy life.
Anywhere with my sweetie is home.
Brad, you ol’ smoothie, you!
Awww! Unexpectedly touching.
I sure hope they don’t take that to mean that they should go for the house.
Heh. In Houston, that house wouldn’t even fetch $250,000.
Yeah, Brad. We know.
Now, she drops the bomb… “We do need something bigger, though… I’m pregnant.”
That’s so sweet.
Well I’ve never had a place I could call my very own. That’s alright, my love, cause you’re my home. – Billy Joel
Awwww. They are so cute and Brad knows all the right answers♡♡♡♡♡♡.
Brad has finally mastered the art of saying the right thing at the right time. Good for him!
and in the next panel, you see Toni give him a big kiss for that nice line!
In the End even with all that stuff called accessories in life, that’s all that matters in the end called (L.i.f.e-Living.wIth.Wife.Enjoyably)+ :)
Gee Whiz, Kids. Its not the end of the World. These two got married back in 2016. So its likely that they’ve only been saving up for a new house since about 2017. So, why they start saving anew?
Right now, they are only paying rent, utilities, food, gas and taxes. Is Brad still driving around in his old Nova? Is Toni making car payments? They never seem to go anywhere, or spend a lot of money (except on that “renovation”) So, if they are very fugal, there’s reason they can’t have a down payment ready by early 2021. Something tells me that at 650K, this house may STILL be on the market then. But at a considerably lower, semi-affordable price.
Funny thing about house hunting. No matter how much you “love” one house, there’s always a BETTER, more affordable one waiting around the corner. So, as Journey sings, “Don’t Stop Believin’!” A “Miracle” may yet happen with this house.
Oh. And I wouldn’t do any more “renovations” to somebody else’s house at MY expense if I were these two……,
Brad, You Sweet Talker You.
BUY IT! Then when it goes underwater, you can declare bankruptcy and move back in with your parents, and the stress of being a failure will lead to divorce. Go on, you only live once, live beyond your means for a change. Everyone does it, even the president.
The Evans made panel 1 into a bit of a motivational poster setup. The payoff waits until tomorrow, although some would arguably point out to the “awwww” factor of the last panel.
Good answer, Brad! … Good answer.
Old Yiddish joke.Son to Dad: “Daddy what does real estate have to do with sex?”Dad to Son: “Apparently everything.”Better get with the program Brad
I wonder if/when Brad and Toni will have a baby?
Right answer, Brad!
And if anyone may doubt Brad isn’t a genius, here is your proof.
a house don’t make a HOME!
When did Brads hair start turning Gray
It even had a bedroom for Shannon so they wouldn’t need to do another add on.
Good answer Brad.
eh…. it’s a typical suburban house with big garage (for car lifestyle) and little character, no front porch, no big loss..
Awww, that is SO sweet!
next week: TJ has something up his sleeve as to how they might afford it.
Aww, sheesh! Mushy stuff!
Suck on that, Mick Jagger and the rest of the Rolling Stones: You Can’t Always Get What You Want
To Brad’s credit, he never takes Toni for granted.
Brad may say he has it all, but I don’t think he’d mind getting a little bit more when they get home.
