Well, good luck with that. I don’t think anyone with the extra money will be throwing it at an influencer who nuked her socials on a whim and Tiffany, who didn’t even have that going for her. They’d be smarter to start with a lower fee. Especially when necessities are so costly now.

This enterprise is doomed to fail. They have not developed a process or tested a prototype of the product. They don’t know if it will work. They don’t know what it will cost, so they can’t set a marketable price that covers operating costs and produces profits. They can’t advertise any justification of the product value to convince potential customers that their fee is worth spending. Business cannot live on hype alone. They still haven’t realized that they have an idea worthy of repeat business if only they’d let go of the “once-for-all” concept of identity branding. What they have is the potential for an evaluative tool for personal and professional development, if it works. The end result of several iterations and “what-if” decision-making investigations over the several-year span of a developing university career might be used to claim a personal “brand”. It might well improve the process of resume writing or videographing, particularly in tailoring a specific resume toward a particular employer, industry, or position. The real profits would not be a result of a “one shot” application, but in the virtually limitless re-evaluations possible during a client’s developmental process.

The only way for Bets and Tiff to get this to work is if they could get the most popular girls in the most popular sorority (ditto for the popular guys in the popular fraternities) on campus to sign up for the rebranding and then others will follow their lead. $500 is a lot of coin but then again, a lot of the kids in the Greek system are from wealthy families and nowadays some fraternities and sororities have dues and fees that amount to a lot more than $500 when you add up the whole semester.

I am going to guess their first targets might be Kip and Stef as they are pretty popular on the Mooney campus. Kip s the star QB and Stef as a cheerleader. Despite their enthusiasm, I suspect that Bets and Tiff are not going to rake in $20K a month but they may gain a valuable lesson in life and business.

I like that them think big and believe in themselves, now they just need to decide on a more realistic launch price. $15, or $20, would make more sense. I think that if they’ll do some free Rebrand for students well know in the campus, they would attract many others too. I propose Bernice because many know her for how inflexible she is and seeing her changed would surprise everyone. Sure, the whole idea might end in a big failure. But it might help them learn something and do better next time.

It’s interesting that Bets turned to Tiff for a catchy name. Their “clients” don’t necessarily have to be college kids. But some commentators say college kids can’t afford $500. But, they spend $$ on tattoos, expensive shoes and tons, for girls, of makeup. Tiff has run into trouble setting up businesses, so I hope they are smarter this time.

Bets is just pulling number out of her orifice. Why not say they have 2 clients a month at $10,000 each. That is just as realistic as what Bets is saying. They have done no research at all into the demand or need for a branding service. They have no idea what is involved in it and why anyone would want it. They have a lot to learn if they intend to be business majors.

All they have to do is create the perceived need. Spring semester is when the companies roll in and interview on campus. They have to price it to create the idea that they can’t live without this new brand for themselves. And in California, there are people who pay thousands to create their brand, new or improved.
