Finally, Ora leaves her note behind. Mostly. She’s being Sage and looks like an Onion.

This is why you’re getting a bath in the near future, Ora Zella.

Oh, if only being a grownup really did mean you could do whatever you want every single day!

OZ is a direct thinker.

Being an adult does mean you can do whatever you want, but as Ora Zella found out climbing the curtains, there are consequences.

And what will you detects confined inside that little house? You even turns blind eye towards mangy mices running around contaminating the apartment and everything inside it including the foods.

Are we going to see Goldie, with Venetian blind shadows over her, feet up on the desk which has a gun and a pint of Bourbon in the drawer, hoping for a client to come in. But not if the client is from Manhattan, Kansas.

In panel 2 it looks like there are quotation marks around Ora Zella’s tail tip? Cat tails are very expressive but ?

Ora’s not wrong. Kitten thinking is uncomplicated.

I truly hope that this story line isn’t Georgia’s way of gently telling us that she doesn’t want to be a cartoonist anymore!!

Georgia posted an update on Elvis, "I got Elvis’ lab results back! He is mostly in terrific shape—but he does have (very!) early signs of kidney disease. The vet believes it’s just begun and is around stage two, but feels that it’s early enough that a special diet will hopefully be helpful! Elvis’s wonderful, older, late sister Hazel had kidney issues. Knowing her history, I was able to get Elvis checked out preemptively. I’m so grateful it was caught early and measures can still hopefully be taken to keep him in good health. The vet gave me a list of renal foods for him to eat, and some tips on keeping him hydrated. I’ve been adding water to their food for a few months now and it seems helpful. The whole crew seems to enjoy it! "

Project Uplift Frodo

The Plexiglass tubes were a bust. I see why UPS rerouted them.

Literally, the seven-foot long box, the last foot or so was crushed going from 40" height down to 20" height. And cracks going almost half the length of the tubes inside the box. I think they ran over the end of the box with a truck or something.

They also put the 5.5" ID tubes inside the 6.25" ID tubes, so all of them got busted.

Talking to the Plastics company for replacement. We are also looking to see if we can find either glass or clear PVC Pipe alternatives. McMaster Carr has acrylic tubes, might need to update the size, but they are really pricey at $106 per foot length. At this price Glass might be cheaper way to go.

The Plastics Supplier wanted $60/six foot length – so I hope their lead time works for a replacement set.

Ora Zella is crazy to be weary that donut suit. The one I wear one always has sprinkles.

I think the proper phrase is, “Always beware the donut.”

With Goldies great skills on solving cases I believe that membership in U.N.C.L.E. [United Networked Cats for Law and Enforcement] would be most appropriate next step in her career. She could team up with Napoleon Siamese, Illya Katyakin and Alexander Waveshistail, to later be joined by April Dancer Kitten and Mark Slate Gray Tabby. They would make an excellent team to battle the evil forces of T.H.R.U.S.H. [Terrible Hounds for the Re-education of Unsuspecting owners and the Subjugation of our Humans].

The dumb waiter would make an excellent hidden headquarter in the Big Pink House on the Hill, while the Winifred Quinn Animal Rescue Center would be the perfect, nondescript location for the secret entrance to the U.N.C.L.E. headquarters. Let the adventures begin.

Donut forsake me, oh my darling

I’ve eaten enough doughnuts, that’s it’s part of my DNA…So, I am A DOUGHNUT!

Between Lupin and OZ, there’s at least two donuts the Woman brought into the house but then wasn’t able to enjoy. I hope she bought more than two!

I may get a tattoo that says “Always wear the donut!”

If I tried running an ad hiring myself out as a detective, it wouldn’t take people long to figure out I don’t know what I’m doing so I wouldn’t make anything.

Goldie (and Orbsters) could enjoy Spencer Quinn’s series about the detective adventures of Chet and Bernie, written by Chet, the canine member of the team. Despite Chet’s anti-feline prejudice, these books are a fun read.

I would wear a donut, but I’m worried someone might attempt to eat me.

Goldie has a great support group already!

Really the donut is more of a ‘red carpet’ thing than a utilitarian choice. Not very durable and difficult to wash.

O. Z. has mastered adulting.

This is a strip that really spoke to me – I’ve had an “I don’t want to be an ‘X’” feeling for a long time, and after five months of prep work, I launched my own business on Monday; similar field but doing the things I love about my profession, and not doing the elements that really got me down.

If I ever worry about whether I made the right choice in shifting from a career path that was incredibly stable and secure to one where I still don’t know whether anyone will actually want to pay me, I will remember to always wear the donut!
