It would seem the styrofoam cups were the most useful bits of their meeting….. so far.

Has anyone here ever disguised themselves, as a hand puppet or other, to get out of a meeting? It seems like something any sane person should try at least once to avoid meetings.

Well, no one can say that nothing ever gets done in their station staff meetings. They have to be more eventful than any people-network staff meetings. Pretty sure that Walter Cronkite never ate a styrofoam cup. Although he might have lost his assignments in a pile of laundry once.

Um, I’m a bit confused here. First, I’ve lost track of which cats are the second floor cats. (Though given that Tabitha made that motion and annoyed Elvis, I can make a guess.) Second, I thought the whole point of the meeting was to settle assignments, including those that were stolen (old habits?) or -er -accidentally dropped behind the laundry. If the second floor cats settle their assignments before the meeting, why have the meeting?

Good thing they live in a big house. With six cats in one apartment and 10 in the house, sometimes they need space from each other. Who’s going to tell Ora Zella that hand puppets don’t bite? Hopefully the station has a First Aid kit!

    Meanwhile, Back on the Nile

    At the Artisans’ Studio

Iggy: Alright, shall we get started on planning our guitar making?

Iron Glove: I think we could base the guitar on the lute and adapt them from there.

Wally: Do we have any ideas on how lutes are made?

    Enter Beatrixia:

Bea: Coffee run! And here are a few scrolls from the Very Good Library.

Iggy: Thanks, Bea. This is a great start.

Bea: If I may make a suggestion, you may want to search the library for scrolls on instrument making. Try the 780s.

Iron Glove: Great idea. Let’s go!

Isn’t this fun? This is like the good ol’ days when you had radio and no television and you had to imagine what the scene was like!!! Similar to listening to a ball game on the radio and not television!! Or Dragnet on radio before it was on television!!!

Can we just take a moment here to acknowlege Georgia’s prolific talent, not only as an artist but as a writer? the last two days have highlighted that she can be funny without painting even a whisker. It’s this broad background that makes her so exceptional I believe!

Ladybug update:It’s not looking good for the little girl. It is definitely looking neurological. She still doesn’t have proper use of one rear leg or the base of her tail (but she can control the tip), she’s constipated something terrible and she’s leaking urine. Other than the constipation she doesn’t appear to be in pain, though. We’re going to try to get her in with a vet neurologist but don’t yet know how long of a wait that will be.This is very saddening.

    OT: Me

I went back to the doctor today expecting to have the stitches removed, but after the bandages came off, the doc decided to leave them in for another week. At least the new bandage is much smaller and I can change it once a day giving my foot some fresh air. The replacement bandaging consists of antibiotic strips and ace bandage wrap, so I still need to wear the lovely “strappy sandal” for another week.

Me dear, wonderful neighbors have trimmed my bushes and mowed my grass so that my house no longer looks like “Gray Gardens.”

I hope Georgia’s hand is healing faster than my foot!

    OT: Neighbor’s cat

There has been a beautiful white cat with a gray tabby tail and a few gray tabby patches visiting my yard for several months now. I have yet to determine whether kitty is male or female, so I reluctantly use “it” for reference. It is too clean, fat, and healthy to be a stray, so I’m assuming it belongs to a neighbor and is an indoor/outdoor cat. I just haven’t determined who it belongs to.

Up until today, it has remained very aloof. When I came out the door to go to the doctor’s office this afternoon, it was curled up on the sunny side of my porch taking a nap. It woke up when I came out the door, but didn’t run away. It was still there when I returned home, so I took a chance and offered some whisker rubs and chin scritchies which were rewarded with loud purrs and face rubbing of my hand.
