The priest on the left is gaudy for a monsignor — he looks more like a cardinal.

A week to go. I hope your latest news is good. Just wondering if you’re in the States and have to arrange for the 18-month COBRA health coverage, or to buy an individual plan.

In Ohio, I skipped directly from 1st to 3rd grade. I had to learn cursive in about a week, sitting in the bathroom at night. The school used Zaner-Bloser. After that, I would get a C+ in handwriting. In my second year of college, although I had no interest in teaching K-6, I had to enroll in an elementary education class that covered handwriting among other things.

I’m grateful that, unlike my father, I never lived in China and had to learn Mandarin and ideographs. My daughter studied Japanese here and in Japan, and had to deal with hiragana and I forget what else. DH#1 couldn’t send her e-mail because his address used a hyphen; I got to handle all the correspondence.

    Sophie’s song from Rubber Soul (1965) – Lennon /McCartney

I’m looking for you, where did you go?I thought I knew you, what did I know?

You don’t sound different, but you have changed.I’m looking for you, but you’re not the same.

Since you were moving, I cannot hear,Your letter’s soothing, but the words aren’t clear.

You don’t sound different, what is your game?I’m looking for you, but you’re not the same.

Why, tell me why, won’t you my love requite?Love has a tragic habit of disappearing overnight.

You’re thinking of me the same old way,I hoped you loved me, but not today.

The only diff’rence is you’ve gone there.I’m looking for you and you’re nowhere.

Another leftie. There’s an unproved theory that left-handers are more creative. Isn’t our dear Georgia a leftie?

I forgot to post this yesterday for our Aussie and NZ Orbsters. Shakespeare was (supposedly) born on April 23rd, 1564, and died (dead as a doorknob) on April 23rd, 1616. Every year, we can celebrate his memory by talking like Shakespeare.
