Setting fire to crosses never struck me as being very Christian-ey. Plus that whole “as you’ve done for the least of your fellow man, you have done for me” bit which so many “Christians” seem to forget.
“So, with the revelation of MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION in working closely with Big Tech Companies, the DNC & the Democrat Party, do you throw the Presidential election results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution. Our great “Founders” did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!”
Ahhh. The KKK. A branch of the Southern Democratic Party that no one likes to talk about. God bless the Republican North and the likes of President Lincoln, General Grant, General Tecumseh Sherman and the 359,528 Union soldiers laid to their grave in those terrible 4 years.
I grew up in the South. I never understood the obsession of the lost war. Sore losers? My friend, Jimmy, from Boston Mass, said out loud in Biloxi Miss, “Hey. They ah still fightin the wah”. “I know Jimmy,” I said. “I grew up with them.” All those Southern Baptists prayed for victory in the war. They didn’t like the answer they got: NO.
Golden Gate Quartet had a song in the pre-Civil Rights Era, No Restricted Signs in Heaven. Looks like it was true in the other place as well… Even H*ll was more tolerant than the Jim Crow south.
Bubba’s Eternal Lesson in Irony in this racist cartoon is that he will have to spend eternity in a flaming pit with a mob of Liberal Democrats and entitled racists. Gives The Count the willies just thinking about it, boy howdy.
I just love it when somebody points out how racist the Democratic Party used to be, because it underlines which of the two major parties is capable of learning from its mistakes and actually trying (and often succeeding) to move forward toward a better life for all.
And now the Republican party that provided freedom is dead set on destroying it and the Democratic party which went to war to keep slavery is now the party of freedom. Don’t you just love irony?

Self delusion is a hallmark of being human. Though religious humans seem to be better at it, in general.

So apparently MLK’S dream was hell? And now, the people who are exemplifying his dream are members of the group who lynched his people?

I never thought that I was racist when I thought:
I’m from Brooklyn. Racists come from Texas, Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, South Carolina …
I never wore white robes and a hood or burned a cross on my front lawn (OK, people in Brooklyn don’t have front lawns).
That black people could make it if they “just applied themselves” like I did.
That some black people made it, so why can’t they all?
That the only way black people can get civil rights is to steal them from us white people. They can’t win unless I lose and I hate losing.
That it’s not my problem. What can I do about it?
I might be turning the corner. It’s now offending me personally when I see injustices to blacks and other marginalized groups.
I would like to be able to say, “I used to be racist, but then I grew up.”
