Oh that first panel with Trevor reading to Beatrix—her little pointy kitten tail, his striped nightcap, a candy cane in his tea cup. And that last panel! Puck has not only seen the mailman, now he’s seen the biggest mystery man of them all—Santa—while Lupin is too preoccupied trying to fit in the stocking that he doesn’t even notice the jolly old fellow, and Elvis is missing out yet again.

What do cats get from Santa for Christmas if they get on his “naughty” list?

OT to this strip, but I just wanted to tell everyone how proud I am of my former feral Raven, who I first saw as a frightened pair of eyes out in the dark, and who tonight has not left my lap for the entire time it took me to read this book (points at book). He is so happy and glossy and I love him so much. That’s all. Normal service may resume.

Oh, My CAT! Santa has that naughty/nice list…Lupin is probably double billed on it in both categories…Cats have to do Cats.

Pucky, my dear, it is rude to poof at Santa.

He goes to shelters and tool sheds, feels all the locks - the cows dream by the light of the moon summer dreams in the stall; forgetful of harness and whip and rein. Pålle in the stable also has a dream: the manger he is leaning over is filled with fragrant clover.

He goes to the fold for lambs and sheep, and sees how they sleep in there; he goes to the hens, where the cock stands proud on its highest perch; Karo in the kennel’s straw feels good, wakes up and wags his tail slightly, Karo knows the gnome, they are good friends.

Wishing everyone a warm and happy Christmas Eve (ours might be too warm, calling for near-record high)—my plan is to bundle up on the loveseat with kitties, some eggnog with a dash of nutmeg and a splash of rum, and watch “It’s A Wonderful Life”. Maybe someday Santa will bring me the DVD…

Last, the gnome slips in to see the cherished household people. He has marked long and wellthat they keep his diligence in honor.Then he tiptoes to the children’s rooms to see the cute little ones, none can restrain it: it is his greatest happiness.

Wishes to all for a joyful, caring and safe holiday. Give your fur-babies extra rub behind the ear, hug and special treats, for the joy and love they give you year round.

Random thought: I wonder if Lupin’s invisibility would work in Santa’s beard.

May God bless everyone in the Orb who accepts the blessing. Merry Christmas! We are boarding some family cats so love from me, hubby, kitten boy, vick, morrigan, donna, summer, nikki, paris, and rusty.

It’s a rainy, blustery day here in Tucson, Arizona, and currently only 48 degrees. It’s a wonderful day for staying inside. Wish I had a fireplace. My furnace has been having fits and spits and is currently not running. It should come back on in about an hour, hopefully. It does what it calls an ignition lockout every couple of days for no known reason. Need to get it looked at, but probably won’t happen until after the first of the year.

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. Thank you all for your camraderie over the past year. I love the MegaOrb and all the friends I have here. It feels like a really safe and wonderful place to be.

Merry Christmas to all. I will be spending the first part of the day with my kitties and then packing up to go to my mom’s for tonight and tomorrow. I will probably wait for my mail to see if I get my calendar, though the tracking oh Zazzle shows it is back in Illinois for some reason. The tracking at the UPS site still says it is at my post office. Good thing there is still a week left this year. :)

Lupin won’t shut down. He must have gotten into the kids’ Christmas candy or, gasp!, Santa’s cookies!

Merry Christmas to the Orb from myself, LucyLu and Big Gray. Every day I am thankful I joined you all here in this wonderful place.

Merry Christmas to Georgia Dunn and family, and my orb friends of all faiths and beliefs.

OT ‘The Gray’, has responded very well to her thyroid meds, and is putting on weight and fur sheen. Finally got her to take the twice daily pill by coating it in rendered pork fat (low salt) and her favorite white cheddar cheese, making a warm squishy cheese/fat/pill lump, & cooling those in the fridge. Mercifully she needs calories so no worries there. She is on her way to being a healthy 13 year old again. All in all a superb Xmas gift!!!

Many years back I decided to have my own Christmas tradition with the cats. Every Christmas Eve I pet each cat thoroughly and tell their story of how they came to be part of the family. I use their names a lot, so they know it’s about them. Only one has a real “Christmas” story – Claude, who was tossed out into traffic on a snowy city street on Christmas eve day and rescued by a passer by who took him to several vets trying to find one with room to take him. It appears there’s never any room in the inns on Christmas eve. I happened to be buying cat food at one of the clinics when the rescuer came in, so I took him. He’s 13 now, fat and happy, with lots of cat friends.

15 points per stocking. Looks like lupin’s gonna get one! Did he get the topper or the tree or anything else?
