Fanny was a fandango fanatic who fancied fandom, fanfare, and fantasies. Her favorite musical? Phantom of the Opera.

I guess that this picture’s okay / (it must be – it IS a Manet ! )/ but it can’t be right (can it ?)/ to spell “Manet” like “planet”/ yet pronounce it like “s’il vous plait” !

Nuthin could be Frencher than a wench upon a trencher in the mo-or-ornin’ .. (trencher: “a circular, flat piece of wood upon which a piece of meat is served”)

she probably gets fan mail from some flounder…

The Impressionists “painted what they saw.” One decent optometrist could have destroyed an entire artistic movement.

This looks like Berthe Morisot, also an artist, who was married to Manet’s brother , Eugene, but was in love with Edouard…

Berthe was later heard to remark that she was so stoned when Manet painted this, that she didn’t even remember posing.

Manet started to paint his wife nude but the early morning sight was too much for him. He screamed, “I can’t I can’t” and scribbled over painting with black.

Gee, I thought the red light would bring in customers?
