The brocolli, yes. The liver sounds nasty, and I like liver.

I wouldn’t touch that stuff, even if someone paid me!

I used to love liver & onions, then I found out what the liver is.

If there’s a “void” in fast food there’s a very good reason!

I love broccoli with cheese and especially as a soup. I like liver also. But I learned a lesson one day when I put liver in a crock pot and went to work. When I came home the whole apartment stunk of liver. It took a concentrated effort to get rid of the smell!

If he had said “Barbecued Brocolli and Liver” he might have done better. Details, details. ;-)Like • Reply

I loved of both of them as a kid and adult. My hubby would look and shake his head when I had liver and onions for dinner.

You would think Calvin n Hobbs would be first in line with explosives.

Optimism isn’t dead, buts his taste buds may be.

It should prove popular. Never a line to be served. Of course, once it becomes popular there will be a line for service, and business will drop.

Fried chopped chicken livers and onions, on matzoh… My mouth is already salivating… See you all later, after I return from the butcher…

I’d go for some of that steamed liver……of course I too like to get Sushi from the Circle K down on Main Street.

I bet the neighbors called in a broken gas main.

As we get older we slowly lose our sense of taste, so we can eat broccoli. If we live long enough to lose our mind, we can also eat liver.

That’s as appetizing, as the idea of another trump in politics.

Let’s hope, they all go back to stealing funds from charities.

I’d expect a line of hopeful cats for the liver

Nature abhors a vacuum.

Thankfully, I have already eaten breakfast. I think I just threw up a little in my mouth. He should try deep fried Rocky Mountain Oysters and Spinach. I’m pretty sure it would do better.

Mom would always overcook liver until it was tough, and if there was broccoli it was boiled to a mush. Yuk! When I got my own place a butcher told me the secret to making liver right. Start with calves liver. Remove any skin and veins before dredging in flour. Fry some bacon to desired doneness, then remove from pan, keeping the bacon grease. Add liver and brown the first side over medium heat. Flip the liver over, add onions and mushrooms, reduce the heat, and place cover on pan. Cook until onions are translucent and mushrooms are golden. Done! The liver is tender, and has just enough saltiness from the bacon. Serve with the bacon, onions and mushrooms. If you are having broccoli on the side, do not cook it. Instead, drizzle it with the bacon, drippings. If you like, sprinkle with some parmesan cheese. With that Phil would have a line around the block.

Liver should always and only be fried, with bacon & onions.

Reminds me Chef Nick Stellino pondering the artichoke; he had to wonder about the first person who saw an artichoke and thought, “I bet I could eat that.” (I’ve often wondered the same thing about the person or persons who invented Haggis – and sincere apologies to all good Scots everywhere who sincerely believe Haggis to be a foodstuff.)

Steamed liver is not something I want to think about, especially in the morning. Not a fan of broccoli either.

We actually had chicken livers and broccoli last night. I said to my mother, “I smell offal”. If she knew the word, it would have been a better joke.

One of my favorite breakfasts is biscuits, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs and hash browns with onions and green peppers. Too fattening to have very often, but I still cook it once or twice a year. I grew up in the south and cook southern, my wife is from Wisconsin and cannot stand any thing I cook.

Sounds healthy.

I used to love liver and onions and then I stopped eating organ meats. Had to give up kidneys in my steak and kidney pie as well.

Clearly would have been a great success had it not been for the pandemic

Must be Scandinavian – they boil or steam everything.
