Life's a beach!
My slippers, while not new, are the most comfortable items I have ever put on my feet. This year sucks, so far
Thank you sir. My day was made when I saw that marg had gone on Facebook and wished me a Happy Birthday

Just checked Facebook And marg has made a couple posts on her own. I told her that the Locos have all been keeping her in our thoughts and prayers.
Another stellar day today. I took Carmy to the beach to play fetch. Then we walked for an hour in historic Fairhaven, trimmed boxwood hedges and mowed the lawn. No Carmy did not help trim or mow. Though she is pretty dang smart. That is why she didn’t help. Why work when you can stretch out and lie in the sun.
I tried twice yesterday, to post marg’s update and it would not post so glad that this one worked
marg MAY 28 UPDATE: Dad and I drove down to Mesa to drop off some things mom wanted. That’s approximately 115 miles. One way. The facility seems nice and so do the people working there. We met with mom’s case manager and filled in some information for her. We were given copies of her treatment plan and meds she’s taking and why. We go over there tomorrow, as it had been a long day by the time we get home.
Mom called when we were in meeting with the case manager. It was fun to say we were right downstairs. That’s his closest we’ve been in a long time. She’s getting pretty good at calling us on her own and answering our calls. It’s so nice not to have to rely on nurses, they aren’t always easy to reach, to facilitate a call. She and dad are able to have more conversations now. So nice for them
Mom said she was able to sit on the edge of the bed this morning. The afternoon was another story. She had more difficulty trying to do it. We’ll see how her therapy progress while she’s at the new facility. I have the address for her if you’d like to send her something. No flowers. Too many respiratory patients. She can receive cards and the like. She can also receive balloons. Balloons were not allowed at Select Specialty in Phoenix.
have a good night and great Friday. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

LilG is a nurse that deals with A lot of elderly people, , like her and I. She has a much different take on these messages. Optimistic as they may sound, as a nurse she has her concerns.
marg MAY 27 UPDATE: so, change of plans. This morning mountain valley in Prescott Valley decided they were not going to take my mom yet. After another chest x-ray, they didn’t like what they saw and said they couldn’t meet her respiratory needs at this time. Okey-dokey. Mom is now in a rehab in Mesa called Montecito that is able to meet her respiratory needs and do PT, OT and speech therapy. This puts getting to visit with her through a window on hold. Sorry, dad and I are driving down to Mesa tomorrow to drop off things mom wants like toiletries, etc. frustrating that she won’t be up here yet like we hoped. One step at a time. We are learning lessons in patience and dealing with change. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
