The old saying is: “Many a truth is said in jest.” And today’s strip has a lot of truth about some people’s natures!

Well, that settles the question of whether or not Shannon gets whatever she demands. Obviously not.

Luann is mirroring Shannon’s behavior to her. Sheer genius. Luann is gifted in this regard.

I’m shocked this sunday comic didn’t end with “i know you are but what am i…i know you are but what am i..” hahaha

Not unusual for strong-willed kids to challenge adult authority when it interferes with something the child wants. I agree that Luann is using brilliant child psychology dealing with this very normal kind of behavior from a child who can be bratty at times. That is a good foundation for Shannon’s future personality development. See I didn’t use foible for those persnickety types. (lol)

Shannon’s approach was wrong in the first frame though she is “attempting to learn the rules”. The second frame is Luann explaining to Shannon in her terms. The third, well… a little show off of adult privilege?

I like Shannon the way Mr. Wilson like Dennis.

Shannon’s height appears diminished for the purpose of today’s cartoon. She appears only 3 feet tall – or not much more than half Luann’s height. A 6-7 year old should be closer to 4 feet.

Today’s strip is odd. Luann has never treated Shannon like this and Shannon has always loved spending time with Luann. I wonder if Greg actually wrote today’s comic. The drawing seems a little different too.

Speaking of adult behavior – go in and clean up the mess you brought in from camping, Ms DeGroot.

What makes an adult ? Opinions vary; it’s either the years or the mileage.

Still wondering if Luann gets paid for watching Shannon. Maybe sometimes yes and sometimes just for being part of the family.

This reminds me of “Provocative Therapy”, the controversial technique developed by the late Frank Farrelly. Some people are naturals at this, and Luann is one of them.

Um, so much for an adult setting an example. Lulu has a long way to go towards adulthood and maturity.
