Now Pucky, you know that cats don’t need an excuse to say “Feed me!” . . . Of course, if you happen to have, especially one that is at least semi-valid, well that’s a bonus. Okay, disregard previous advice and carry on!
1. Elvis is right, as usual. The Isle of Man is a self-governing Crown Dependency. Nothing to do with Scotland.
2. And, like Elvis, I do not understand their religion at all. I cannot understand why people born and brought up in countries other than Ireland care about St Patrick’s day. We don’t see any similar exhibitions for St David’s Day, St Andrews Day, St George’s Day, St Swithin’s Day, St Pancras’ Day, Woolgoolga Curryfest, or my birthday.
3. Elvis is right. He isn’t Irish. Only people who are citizens of Ireland are Irish. However, being of Siamese ancestry doesn’t make him a Thai. He need Thai citizenship for that.
In sum , then, Lupin is right. This makes no sense at all. Keep trying to get that hat off.
At least Elvis is getting a head scritch out of it in the last panel and all he had to endure is the silly t-shirt the Woman insists on putting on him.
For the full glory of his green pom-pom deely bopper, check out the March page of the CN calendar.
The legend of the Manx Cat. A long time ago, a mama cat on the Isle of Man saw British soldiers cutting off cats’ tails to decorate their helmets. To spare her kittens such an indignity, she bit off their tiny tails herself. To this day, the Manx cat has no tail.
The Isle used to be noted for horses and racing, today it is automobile racing. It was also the headquarters for Norse (Viking) raiders during the early Middle Ages.
Very possibly my all time favorite strip, going from “Kiss me, I’m Irish” to “Don’t touch me, I’m Siamese” to “Feed me, I’m Scottish.” And over here is the Isle of Man, which is its own thing…
And let’s not forget “Scottish Folds are also Scottish.” This strip has a laugh line in every panel!
I think this is showing us that the cats would much rather wear imaginary clothes of their own creation than actual clothes selected by their loving woman who has no clue about their sartorial preferences.
Good morning and happy Bunday, orbsters and orbabies. Georgia has put so much detail into this strip! “Don’t touch me, I’m Siamese”, “Feed me, I’m Scottish”, the Scottish cats dropping body parts right and left – Georgia, you are an incredible lady!
Might Pucky be an incarnation of the Twelfth Doctor? “The Doctor: Oh, no, that’s good. [he practices the ‘oh’ sound] It’s good I’m Scottish. I’m Scottish. I am Scottish. I can complain about things, I can really complain about things.” "
Elvis looks a bit worried that Thailand isn’t on the map. Of course, he’s looking at the wrong map, but I wonder if he’s thinking he’s now a cat without a country. I would suggest he might like Loy Kratong—This festival is held on the night of the 12th full moon. Although not a national holiday, this is an important festival. People honor the river goddess by floating candles down waterways throughout Thailand, leading to the name “The Festival of Lights.”

I’m so impressed how Georgia was able to fit the original St. Patrick’s Day comic in to a Sunday strip!

Puck might be Manx after all. The flag of the Isle of Man shows some kind of three-legged thing in the center.

I couldn’t resist! I ordered a print of this strip. Now I will have an office decoration for St. Patrick’s Day!
I assume Georgia gets some of the $ when a print is ordered. If not, I shall be VERY cross with GoComics.
