Pig, watching people with too much disposable income bidding over a Brasher Doubloon didn’t get your heart racing?

Pig was watching C-Span – the cameras caught members of Congress counting their 30 pieces of silver for betraying their constituents.

Oh, and I went to see John Wick 3. The action scenes were stellar and I was burning the candle at both ends.

When the first Harry Potter book was published in the UK, it was titled, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”. But when it was released in the U.S., it was called “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”.

    Because, you know . . . Philosophers.

I want to see “The Vexillologist.” Flying proudly like the flags of the world, she’ll vex her foes by flapping her gums about cantons and fields and fly ends.

I heard Tom Hanks making fun of his role in “The Da Vinci Code”, about the exciting moment when his character suddenly shouts “Quick! We have to get to the library!”

The Numismatist would be more likely to be an early Marvel supervillain. Stan Lee would use anything. “With the power I draw from these coins I can rule the world! Here, Spider-Man, you were not prepared for my Liberty Double Eagle Gas Bomb!”

If you ever find a coin with the ‘S’ mint mark, chances are you are holding stolen property as that coin is from a proof set and never released to circulation!

Also watch for pennies with a ‘W’ mint mark this summer. The West Point, NY mint is releasing a fixed amount of pennies for the first time. Isn’t THAT exciting!

I myself am a numismatist. My superpower is to be able to determine by the sound it makes the denomination of any coin dropped on a floor of any surface, even carpet.

It sounds more interesting than the average repetitious “superhero” movie. If you want to know what the plot of the latest is, I can tell you: the same as the last one, and the one before that, and the one before that, and . . . .

True coin trivia: the United States once made a $4 gold coin (1879-1880). It was called a “Stella”, which you have to admit was less than “Stellar”. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stella_(United_States_coin)
