How can Puddles run so fast when Luann and Bernice are walking so slowly?

Puddles is all about “Just do it!”

Wow.

It’s really too bad you didn’t put that level of “thought” in, BEFORE pondering and then ACTIVELY pursuing whether or not your “pal” Gunther and his girlfriend Bets are having sex, Lu!

In the first and second panels, the black leash is in Luann’s left hand. The leash could be in front of or behind Bernice. If the leash is behind, Bernice will soon be bound up when Puddles runs past her. She could even end up on the ground. If the leash is in front, it will be right across where Bernice is trying to walk. In the third panel, Puddles is suddenly on Luann’s right side, and the leash is now in her right hand. Luann needs to be in better control of her dog—and also her leash.

Just ask Gunther and Bets what “Just do it” means. Depending on one’s experience level, it could have a different definition.

The way they treat their workers bothers me more than an advertising slogan.

Who cares! Waiting for Monday!

Luann, stop over-thinking things and “just do it.” That’s your BIGGEST obstacle, you over think EVERYTHING.

Luann has it wrong.

“Just Do It” applies to the moment after you have answered all of those questions, gathers all the right things needed, and are standing at the edge of a very high platform with a long bungee cord attached to your ankles.

She’ll still be paralyzed with doubt, and asking the same questions while being lowered into her grave!!

Some guy named Hamlet put it more eloquently.

Luann’s fifth question, “What should I wear when I do it?” On most guys’ list that would be about #100.

The answer to what to wear when you “Just do it” is obvious, only items made by Nike.

Unless I’m wrong, the slogan “Just Do It” came from the Nike® TV commercials back in the early 90’s.

“Just Do It” Luann means go to Jacks House, Knock on his door and when he answers, PLANT ONE ON HIS LIPS!

It only means you’re supposed to buy Nikes, full stop. Which is a task that your father would never be able to do himself, at least not without yelling at the people working in the shoe department because the Nikes are too expensive. Congrats to Bernice for not making a snide remark today for a change, btw.

Poor confused/frustrated Luann. I agree, that slogan is annoying, just like all the people who say that everything is simple to do, you just need to have the will, the passion. It is never easy to do something, but if you say this, others call you negative. You have to work hard, but then pretend that everything is easy because otherwise you will break the magic to others. I hate IT.

This is an interesting choice of Sunday topic given the subject of the past two weeks of dailies.

Is it just me or do the girls seem a good deal slimmer today? Especially Panel 1?

This is why you shouldn’t get your life philosophy from an advertising slogan whose only purpose is to sell you something.

Luann. Haven’t you realized yet that advertising slogans do not necessarily have to make sense? Nike’s “Just do it,” is supposed invoke a sense of adventurism in one. (Not that they really expect anyone to go out and do whatever.)

I see Luann is taking Puddles out for his twice daily float.

One does not have to wear ANYTHING to “just do it” Luann.

Puddles knows that to commune with nature, first you have to catch it!

Don’t worry, Luann, you’ll find your path in life someday.

Whenever I wanted to do something in life, I did it. I’ve gone skydiving, I’ve traveled in a hot air balloon, helicopter and a small plane. I have no desire to climb any mountain or go scuba diving. I do the things I decide I want in life.

I would have thought that Bernice would be the one second guessing the concept of “just do(ing) it” without considering all of the possible ramifications. Of course I also agree with the person who pointed out that Nike just wants you to buy their shoes.

Whenever you decide to do it, make sure you have protection.

Hah hah hah hah hah! Is this one of the biggest disconnects between the Sunday strip and the weekday/Sat ones? Geez, this Luann is thoughtful. She thinks about the pros and cons before acting, asks herself, “is it safe?” “will it embarrass me?” This version of Luann can be salvaged. But, how does one explain the other… the one that we’ve been ragging on all week?

1) The Sunday strips are set in an alternate universe, like Star Trek’s “Mirror, Mirror”, but the actors/principal cast all look the same.

2) Luann has multiple personalities. So, sometimes the decent one fights its way to the top, and sometimes the immature and selfish one comes out.

3) Aliens have taken over her brain, and they take a break on Sundays.

4) There are 2 Luanns. Decent Luann and Evil Twin Luann. We are unaware of when they swap, but they reveal themselves. based on their behavior.

Her talk of the Nike “Just Do It” slogan is comedy gold!!! Especially because of the events from earlier this week!

Nike’s slogan is specifically about ignoring all of those questions in the second panel.

Wish the story from the previous week would just continue on Sunday….

Well, if we take today’s strip in the context of the story arc this week … I think that I can hazard a guess as to what ‘it’ might be …

Seriously, though, Luann is right. Don’t ‘just do it.’

I remember the ads Bo Jackson did in his Nike cross-trainers. Bo was engaged in various sports with famous athletes saying “Bo does running,” “Bo does this and Bo does that.” Until the got to Wayne Gretzky and Gretz threw snow and looked at the camera and said “Unh unh.” As a cancer prevailer and oncologist I enjoyed the Lance Armstrong ads in 1999, before it was revealed he was a cheat.

I’m still a bicyclist and I still wear Nike cycling shoes.

RIP Singer /Songwriter David Olney , passed away while on-stage. His songs were covered by the likes of Linda Ronstadt and Emmy Lou Harris. Pretty much what every performing musician wishes as their exit.

What she should wear is clearly Nike as that is the entire point of the slogan. Do “it” while you wear Nike!

Two girls, both appear somewhat tall and very thin, and made in he USA from the same cookie cutter. Unfortunately, compared to Tiffany, Nancy, and Toni, they are quite forgettable.

People get down on Bernice for her sarcasm and pointed remarks. But after 12-15 years of this who can blame her?

I fear Luann is growing into a chronic procrastinator and avoider of decision-making.

Company president orders motivational posters, all “Just DO It!” and “Do It NOW!!!” and that ilk, hung up about the company offices and warehouses, then leaves town for a business conference.

He comes back and asks receptionists, “Did the posters have any effect?”
