Oooh, she’s been taking lessons from Sophie!

Oh, Ora Zella … so much drama in such a smol tortie!

8am, universally referred to as “almost noon”. This comes straight from the book, “How to tell time like a cat, and many other things humans get wrong”.

First we had “UPPIES!” Now, I need my snackies, followed by a “death drop”. Ora Zella is turning out the hits, one after another.

Give OZ an Emmy. Those histrionics are worthy of Sarah Burnhardt…

Gent and I would like to remind the kitties that they share their home with mice.

I avoid this by free feeding my cats their dry food.

Alas! OZ is doomed to waste away into a small pile of bleached bones in the next ten minutes, unless some sustenance can be provided.

This will require some sort of penance from the woman.

Ora Zella reminds me of Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) feigning blindness to aggravate Jeannie (Jennifer Grey) as he was convincing his parents that he was too sick for school. Awesome movie.

Would have been better if he called him poppy.

I turned on my shop vacume one day and it blew out a hord of bird seed, little buggers.

My crew gets crunchy breakfast around 6am, unless I’m having a night where sleep alludes me, then the get fed at 4:30am. This morning was a late breakfast morning and the dramatic one was doing his best OZ. The poor thing hadn’t been fed in 9 hours, he was clearly about to waste away.

Cats were absent the day stoicism was being handed out.

Ziggy: We are sailing to the Britannia Isles to create a major project. We need jewels that are indestructible.

Sophititi: What is this project?

Ziggy: King Arturos and his court wish to create a barbecue that is beautiful to look at and suitable for banquets on sacred holidays.

Tillie: And so far you have been unsuccessful?

Ziggy: That’s right. His Majesty wants it to be decorated with jewels, but there are none that could withstand high temperatures for long periods.

Adobe Style: I gotcha. Fe-Anaro’s jewels are indestructible for most purposes.

Ziggy: Yes. We have been searching for years for a solution.

Ora Zella and my cats must have attended the same melodrama classes. Meow-drama. My favorite is the fading-meow technique, where the cat cries softer and softer as if about to fade away entirely from starvation. At the end there’s just an open-mouthed, barely audible “ahh…”

Get up and get outside! It’s baby rat season.

My cats have no sense of time concerning how much has passed since their last feeding. I wish I could leave a full bowl out for them to pick at all day, but that would be a disaster.

Ora Zella is on the way to becoming the Kim Kardashian of the Big Pink House on the Hill. She too is quite the drama queen.

Is cooked pet food making our animals smarter? Supposedly it made us smarter by eating cooked food. We wont be around to find that out, I believe.

Let’s do a survey. Do your cats prefer Temptations dry treats or Fancy Feast? What flavors? Why do vets always ask what your sick or dying cats eat? Any cat nutritionalist out there? Please, respond!

My gang loves the gravity feeder I got. It only needs to be filled out once a week or so (for four cats). They don’t seem to get whisker fatigue due to the construction of the base. They still get their treats regularly throughout the day.

Oz looked sadly at Puck, and said, “Oh, Papa! What shall I do? Will I ever eat again?” She than swooned, onto the thicky carpeted, floor. Puck raised an eyebrow and said, “Frankly, my dear, that swoon will get you posted on- Instagram!”

Elizabeth, I’m coming. This is the big one…

My cat sitter and I were texting last night about this. She said they looked at her when she vacuumed the front rug like she was there to murder them and take all of their treats for herself.

Cats have but two times: food o’clock AM, and food o’clock PM.

How appropriate that I’ve decided to buy The Girl the OZ shirt about “I’m experiencing the consequences of my actions” because she acts just like this when she is hungry.

Services for P’s wife (I’ve since learned her name, M) will be on May 13. I will be going, but unfortunately, The Woman will not be able to as The Girl is still in school and someone of course needs to be here when she gets home.

Any bets on the “Death Drop” appearing as Ora Zella’s signature move in an upcoming Tusslemania?

I’m happy to report that per the morning TV news. declawing is now illegal in Virginia, unless a claw needs to be removed due to injury or infection for the cat, or if the owner has some type of medical condition where a cat scratch could endanger their health. I’m ambivalent about the latter, I think the claw caps would be a good option instead of declawing, but they are a bit pricey and require frequent replacing, which could be hard on some folks. But all in all, this is a great victory. Not only is declawing painful for the cat, but it affects their behavior for the rest of their lives, as I found out with my Rosie (a declawed stray who showed up in my back yard). She knew she had no defensive weapons, so she was “preemptively aggressive” if she felt threatened. This consisted of her charging the other cat while screeching at the top of her lungs. Before I was able to bring her into the house, there were several occasions when she terrorized other neighborhood cats and sent them fleeing from the yard like the devil was after them. After I brought her inside, she would occasionally do this to the boys if they annoyed her and it was nerve-wracking!

Outrageous!! Maybe you should all go on a hungry strike! Oh wait…

I love Ora’s peeking out of one eye as she lies there on the floor in a dramatic swoon.

OT – Misty’s babies

Wish she would pay a cross-over visit to TEN CATS.

My cat Raz sings the “All the Food Bowls are Empty and It’s Two A.M.” blues. It has many, LOUD verses.

She is the drama queen,

She really makes a scene,

See her swoon, hear her sing,

She is the drama queen!

I think this is based on a song “Dancing Queen,” from so long ago I can’t remember the artist’s name.

Oh no, she’s beginning to die of hunger! Somecat do something quick!

Interestingly enough, my cats (one in particular) usually only beg for food at night and never in the morning. Night is when they get their wet food though, so I guess they just have a preference.

And as usual Puck is the voice of reason.

Someone’s been taking theater lessons from Sophie! (Something I would like to see, actually. I wonder if Sophie would enjoy teaching Theater?)

We used to call Albert’s treats snackies and the pill pocket with his medication his “special snackie”. Eventually he learned the word “snackie” and would start begging (he had to sit down and raise one paw to get a treat) if he heard us say it, so we started calling treats “sandwiches”.

Has anyone else been having a horrendous time getting GoComics to load today?

Such a dramatic kitty. I normally need my snackies in the afternoon.

The last cat I owned used to wake me up about 3 a.m. and would scream and yell until I went in and TOUCHED HER FOOD. She had plenty of food (dry) in her bowl, just wouldn’t eat it unless I touched it! (Silly girll!). It’s like she figured there wasn’t anything there if she didn’t hear me rattle it.

My cat typically reminds me that she has finished eating and that I had best prepare for the next meal asap…

This morning, at o’dark thirty, one of the Siameseses weaselled her way under a duvet, climbed onto my chest and woke me up with her "FEED ME, FEED ME NIAOW!!!!! and her clowder sisters were doing likewise in their own way. Evidently I forgot to set the alarm and was awakened with alarum. And hangry kittehs.
